Share some TLC

Breast Cancer can affect anyone of us, but the earlier the illness is discovered, the more likely it is that treatment is successful.
This is why, as we enter Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Breakthrough Breast Cancer is launching a new digital campaign to draw attention to what could be a life saving routine that every woman should incorporate into her lifestyle.
The Talk TLC campaign encourages people of all ages to discuss and pass on Breakthrough’s simple, yet vital breast awareness message: Show your breasts some TLC - Touch your breasts. Look for changes. Check anything unusual with your doctor.
A Breakthrough survey has revealed that only 35% of the 2,000 women questioned check their breasts regularly for abnormalities, and a shocking 71% revealed that they rarely even think about doing so.
The important campaign hopes to get people talking about the vital health check and to bring it to the forefront of women’s minds. Breakthrough also aims to achieve 46,000 pledges on the campaign’s website, www.touchlookcheck.org.uk, with each pledge symbolising one of the 46,000 women who get diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
Each pledge to Talk TLC will be represented on the site as a virtual heart showing the supporter’s name and pledge date. Visitors also have the option to pass on the message via an easy-to-use email mechanism or to ‘upgrade’ their heart by making a donation.
Closer whole-heartedly believes in the importance of this message and asks you to pass it on – to family, friends and other people dear to your heart.
