Vitamin C jab could stop cancer
Thursday 07 August 2008
Scientists have revealed that vitamin C, the nutrient typically found in our fruit bowls, can act as a powerful weapon against cancer.
Groundbreaking research has shown that releasing vitamin C into the bloodstream can stop cancerous tumours growing and kill cancerous cells without damaging healthy tissue .
Testing the jabs on mice, researchers discovered that daily injections of the vitamin had remarkably halved the size of brain, ovarian and pancreatic tumours. Further test results showed that vitamin C attacked cancerous cells without harming any healthy specimen.
The research is still in its' very early stages but cancer research experts believe that these are "encouraging" results that call for deeper investigation, so hopefully our citrus chums can assist us in more ways then simply brightening up our kitchens.
