Ben Fogle kicks off Winter Walking Festival

Had too many mince pies? Want to burn of the excess of the festivities? Well, we have found the perfect way for you to get in shape in time for the New Year.
The Ramblers Nationwide Winter Walking Festival launches this Boxing Day and you could one of the millions joining the bandwagon of walkers!
The festival supported by TV presenter Ben Fogle-a walking enthusiast that will be taking part himself – encourages people to get outdoors and enjoy the nature around them.
‘Walking is a perfect way to escape and unwind after a hectic Christmas, and a stroll in the crisp winter air is perfect way to kick away those Christmas cobwebs,’ Ben said.
‘It really is the ideal time to explore the beautiful winter landscape, and so we’re urging everyone in Britain, whatever their age, stage or level of walking, to get out and join in the Festival of Winter Walks with Nature Valley.’ He added.
Anyone keen to get shed those pounds after the Christmas dinner binge and enjoy some fresh air can join any of the 700 walks running around the country.
Not only can you potentially burn up to 300 calories per hour but it also promises to be an exhilarating experience that you will be talking about way into the New Year!
