The Crompton's benefit from the credit crunch The Crompton's spoil their children despite living off benefits

'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Wednesday 15 July 2009

While hard-working families across the country are struggling to cope in the current economic climate, one family is profiting from it. And infuriatingly, their lifestyle is totally funded by the taxpayer.

Tracey and Harry Crompton and their 10 children live for free in a massive seven-bedroom home (two semi-detached houses knocked through). And they boast that since the credit crunch has forced down prices of many non-essential items, they have even more cash to spend on treats.

The family get a whopping £32,656 a year in benefits, which they use in part for their utility bills. And while the majority of parents are already dreading finding extra money for Christmas, the jobless couple proudly show off £3,000 worth of presents they bought and wrapped weeks ago.

“We’re not stupid enough to wait until the last minute to buy our Christmas presents,” boasts Tracey, 40, from Hull. “The shops put the prices up a month before Christmas Day so we get in early. The credit crunch has meant the prices have dropped even further on luxury things like electrical goods, so we’ve been able to buy loads more than usual.

“I’m not satisfied with the benefits we get – I want more. I haven’t been able to work because I’ve had to bring up the kids and Harry’s got health problems.”

Despite their parents’ unemployment, Michael, 20, Robin, 19, Matthew, 17, Sarah, 16, Samantha, 14, Harry Andrew, 12, Alex, 11, Kristian, nine, Jesse Lee, seven, and Joshua, six, will each unwrap a £100 Nintendo DS games console, as well as several other goodies. The eldest will get £100 in cash too.

“We like to splash out at Christmas and so far we’ve spent around £3,000 on it,” smiles Tracey. “We’ll probably spend more too.”

As they don’t work, the couple have plenty of time on their hands, so much of it is spent growing their own vegetables and tending to their chickens and geese (one of which will be Christmas dinner) in their 270ft-long garden. They even make their own wine.

“I’m a dab hand at it now,” says 50-year-old Harry, who has been out of work for 15 years. He cites angina and irritable bowel syndrome as the reason, even though he admits to spending hours tending the family’s vegetable patch. “I make red and white wine from grapes grown in the garden. The best by far is my elderflower wine,” he says.

Much of the family’s benefits goes on luxury gadgets and toys. They have a PC, a laptop, numerous games consoles, including two PlayStations and two Xboxes, a DVD player, a video recorder, three TVs, a hi-fi music player, and their vast garden is equipped with a slide and 15ft trampoline.

Each child also carries around their own high-tech mobile phone so their parents can contact them at any time.
“If the kids need something I go and get it. I’m forever buying clothes too. I’m in Primark every two weeks updating them with the latest fashions,” says Tracey.

“I rarely go without things either. If I need something, like a new pair of shoes, then I’ll get it. I don’t have a dishwasher though, Harry is my dishwasher!” Shockingly, the freeloading family seem unaware that the rest of the country is struggling financially.

Tracey proudly says: “We don’t have money worries. We don’t go without things and I think that’s because we are self-sufficient. We grow our own food. I don’t see why others should have money worries. We keep 25 chickens, for eggs and meat, and grow potatoes and loads of vegetables. We make our own biscuits and cakes too.”

Despite their “Good Life” lifestyle, the family still spend £250 a week at the supermarket buying 50 bags of crisps, five family packs of chocolate biscuits and 10 litres of fizzy drinks, among other things.

Each night, Tracey, who has been married to Harry for 22 years, will cook dinners such as spaghetti Bolognese, spinach carbonara or chicken curry. She spends up to two hours making it and then serves the food in two sittings.

The family’s £120-a-week rent is covered by housing benefit and they rake in £628 a week in benefits, including income support, disability allowance, carer’s allowance and non-working family tax credits. A working parent would have to earn £46,500 a year before tax and National Insurance to bring home the same amount.

But the only wage earner in the house is oldest son Michael, 20, who contributes £15 a week from his £13k factory job. Matthew, 17, is training to be a chef and Robin is currently unemployed.

Surprisingly, the family seem bemused by the reaction they get from the local community, who shout abuse at them. “Every time I walk down the street, people shout ‘scroungers,’” moans Tracey.

Although Tracey has never had a job, she says life’s too short to do housework. Their walls are splattered with dirt and wallpaper is peeling from the weight of the grime. The mantelpiece is strewn with magazines, DVDs, and videos, and the floor has been bare since the carpet was pulled up and thrown away after a flood two years ago.

“I don’t have much time for cleaning since I started a college course in catering,” she says. “But I only go two mornings a week – any more and they’d stop my benefits because they’d classify me as in education.

"I’m really nervous about what will happen at the end of my course. I’ve never worked and so it would be scary to think I would have to get a job. It would have to be a very well-paid job to pay more than the benefits.”

My children are 3 and 5 and i have HAD to work since my eldest was born i am full time and luckly i have great parents that look after and pick the children up from school! i agree with you this is a disgrace!!!!!!! it actually makes me feel sick!!
something needs to be done about this. my nan recently lost her husband and she gets no help what so ever with money situations, shes worked all her life yet these people dont work and they get money handed on a plate to them!! We need to do something about this!! Its just putting across to people that you dont need to work have 10 children and youll be sorted for rest of your life. its pathetic. Im only 17 yet i understand the meaning of life of having to work for the things you want in life, im already a full time worker earning money to pay for my car and saving to move out!! yet these people do nothing to get what they want!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Possibly the most disgusting family in the UK - although probably one of many disgusting families who think that the world owes them a favour and we should all be out working to fund their lifestyle. They are pathetic - "good life" lifestyle means being self-sufficient whereas they are dependent on the state. What sort of man claims to be disabled and doesn't want to support his family and what sort of mother lavishes such luxuries on her kids when she hasn't earned the money to do so? Also make me sick but also incredibly glad that I am not that sort of person. Lets just home karma wins out!

how funny!! maybe the government should pay them both to be tied and snipped so no more kids for us to pay for! most of the country have had jobs since they were 16 and she is a bloody grown woman scared of it! how pathetic they must be, and very naive, if they could not afford to have so many kids maybe they should keep away from each other, or get jobs so they have something better to do than to jump into bed. people like this should not be given benefits to spend on the latest gadgets!!! blood goverment is crap!!!!!!!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I felt sick reading this! Why do all us hard working people have to pay such huge amounts of tax that end up going to people like this! I strongly feel that the benefit inspectors should pay them a visit and re-assess what they should be paid in benefits and also force at least one of them to go out to work!!!! My dad is 66 and has angina and has had a stent put in his heart but is still working 3 days a week!!!

I am not at all surprised that verbal abuse is thrown at them and I would be tempted to join in too if I saw them buying up the whole of Argos for Christmas presents!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Our Government should read this and withdraw their benefits! They are obviously fit and able to work and should do so. What sort of message does this send out to their own kids. I know two are working but even so, the rest will probably grow up and wait for the handouts like their lazy parents. We should all protest and stop paying taxes until scroungers like these are made to do a decent days work for their money! Proud to be British?! I don't think so!!!!

what the hell is wrong with this country?? how can these people be allowed to get away with this?? i'm 18, moved out of the home at 16( also had a permanent job since!) am currently living in a place where i've had no hot water for 2 years because i cannot afford the oil and the landlord won't pay it( which he did tell me before i moved in), my room has mould all up the walls which i have to clean every week to make it presentable and i'm paying my f****ng taxes so that these people can live in luxury while i live in a hell-hole! when will the government learn?

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

how is this possible?
I have a severe physical disability and yes its bloody difficult but i have a full time job as a teacher, work 10-12 hours days, pay my taxes ,pay my mortgage ,struggle with bills, am not able to afford luxuries and the thought that people who are OBVIOUSLY NOT disabled are taking the money off people who work so hard for it is incomprehensible! People who have true disabilities are missing out because of people like this.
I cannot afford to have children so have not and yet im supporting some woman who has 10 and doesn't seem to have thought about the consequences of her actions at all and seems to think its her right to have over £600 a week!!!! WHAT!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

There are over 500 outraged comments on the Daily Mail website, which also carries this story. There should be a radical overhaul of the benefits system to prevent this kind of national disgrace. For a start child benefit should stop at two children. I retired after 42 years of working and now live on an income of approx £8000pa. I pay tax out of this meagre sum to fund these parasites. I don`t worship money. I just feel so angry at the unfairness of this, on behalf of myself, and all the hardworking taxpayers out there, including my own two children.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I cant even carry on reading this article.

What a complete disgrace to society this family is. They should be ashamed of themselves. Rubbing in the financial hardship of the majority of people at the moment. I am a single parent. I word and would hate to be tarnished witht he same brush as these benefit scum. Get a job and some condoms. These excuses for people should take a bit of responsibility for themselves as well as their kids. What kind of example are they setting to their kids.

This is just one of the examples of what is wrong with society. The lazy scrounging pigs get every thing and the people who try their hardest to proivde a decent standard for their families get penalised at every corner.

Its time for a revolution!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

What Annoyed me about this is the mother cant do housework because she too busy looking after the children, and the father has angina and irritable bowel syndrome. Sorry but i had irritable bowel syndrome and i was fine to work, as for angina, many people have that and they go to work. The fact is they cant be bothed to work. They made those children so they should bloody look after them.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Well stories like this say it all really doesn't it.
We are now in a benefit state where often the workers are the MINORITY!!!!!!!
How in the world can this crappy pair of scroungers hold their head up? It makes me so sick. I was a single parent for 7 years and never claimed a penny because unlike them I have a sense of personal pride and dignity.

I was talking with my husband last night about Christmas looming and what we will and won't be able to spend.
I hope the social security/income support people have read this story and weadle them out for the benefit scroungers they are.

WHAT AN EXAMPLE FOR THEIR KIDS!!!! BRING ON THE NEXT GENERATION OF SCROUNGERS THAT WE'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This is a farce! Im personally in favour of forcing people to do community service who refuse to get a job. As for health problems from the delightful Harry, mate I don't think eternally lazy counts as a "health problem" . As for the thing that claims she is a mother why the hell should I have to pay for your children? I not have children and quite frankly dont want to, so why should I have to pay for other peoples? Not doing housework and living in a sty is something a pig does and I can certainly see the correlation. what really hacked me of though is that these pathetic excuses for human beings have been paid for relaying the scrounging tale by the good people of Closer - have a word!!

How can these scroungers sleep at night when there are people working all the hours to struggle to support their family when massive parts of their pay each month go to support these dirty idle scroungers! Not only do they get all that money for nothing, but they can't even be bothered to clean a house that they have been given and don't pay a penny for. What i ask myself is that they have probably bred another 10 good for nothing scrounger because what aspirations will they pass on to their kids?

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I think the system is at fault. They are not even ashamed of how they live their lives.Their eldest four children should be at work, but you can bet that it is more benificial for them not to.Because they also dont loose child benefit if the kids are at college or school, just like that lot of afghan scroungers, whose eldest was at uni,I bet he has no uni debt.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

can someone please explain to me why I am working stupid amounts of hours, unable to afford to go to college to get a better job and still not getting much mone?... Whereas if i was on benefits, college would be free, id be getting more money, maybe even some rent paid so i could move out of my parents home! This is an absolute joke! I just hope these children grow up and have better morals and standards for themselves than their parents quite clearly have! It's one thing for every child to have the latest computer console, but for her to say she has no time for cleaning as she goes to college 2 mornings a week! get a grip woman! my blood is actually boiling! I am 22 and have worked either full or part time since i was 16 and therefore paid tax for 6 years for people like this to live a seemingly much more luxurious lifestyle than i do!! and to the person claiming to be one of the sons' girlfriend's, if the story is "slandering and horrifying" for the children, maybe their parents should be out working for a living and not putting their children through this by doing such interviews, attracting publicity and attention to themselves and, therefore, the children!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

His health's not that bad if he can knock out 10 kids is it? I really think people like these should be made to do some sort of community service for their benefits - Im sure they could find him something that wouldn't "stretch" him too much. These sort of people cause resentment amongst honest hard working tax payers - why should we have to subsidise these people - I have a heart condition but I still manage to work full-time - I was also a single parent for a very long time - but it didn't stop me working.

He will probably have to work til his 70 then leave to get a little job somewhere else! DOESNT THAT MAKE YOU SICK, IT MAKES ME FCUKIN ANGRY!! Id love to meet this "dying HARRY!"
Also i work for the council and i no how much child benefit is given out it isnt £70's a week its more depending on how many children etc! So dont give us that bull!
You just loving it because your prob living there rent free too!!
You all make me sick and id love to come face to face to all you scum bags!
Well all i can say you lot are as bad as the refugies y dont you for one minute think about how people that work have children and have to scrap together money for food, heating, hand down clothes and no xmas presents at christmas because i no alot of children that dont get anything!! Lucky if they get a xmas dinner!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

How can anyone possibly support their case?!?! It clearly says that she doesn't want to go out and get a job because she will earn less money!!! I don't think it is entirely their fault. They're being practical. They will earn a hell of a lot less money but what the hell are the government doing justifying giving them that much money to begin with?! Four of the children are within working age, and should want to pay their share of the keep! How can the government possibly justify supporting them with £46,500 each year when they're buying luxuries like £3000 of Christmas presents?! My presents from my family at Christmas probably totalled about £15 yet I've never felt deprived. I've read recent articles about how young girls just want to get pregnant as they know they will get free accommodation and money paid to them weekly so that they do not need to work.
The Government need to seriously rethink and re-evaluate just how much of all the hard-working tax payers money they are giving out and the effect it is having on the current population.

I hope the rest of the UK don't think everyone in Hull is like this. Believe you me, there is much outrage at what these "people" are getting in benefits, in Hull as there will be around the country. There are hard-working people who are struggling to survive in the current financial climate and this story should be followed up by a SERIOUS investigation from the government. "People" like these really need to have there benefits seriously looked into. I am totally outraged, disgusted and feel like i have been severely kicked in the face by this woman who DEMANDS even more money from the tax payers of this country. They both need to get off there fat, lazy backsides and start to EARN the money to pay for all THEIR own kids.
It really makes me sick to think of the elderly out there who are putting themselves at risk as they fear high fuel bills so they go without heating when this family don't want for nothing. TRACY AND HARRY CROMPTON IF YOU READ THIS YOU NEED TO GET OFF YOUR LAZY BACKSIDES AND START TO EARN. YOU COMPLETELY DISGUST ME

This discusts me i live in Hull and i would just like to say not all of us from Hull are like this.

At this moment in time i am ashamed to say i live in the same city as them, no wonder people have a low opinion on Hull when you get these lowlifes bragging.

I have started my own business two years ago and have still not paid myself a wage, i get to help from the goverment to pay my bills etc, i have to struggle daily, i have not bought new clothes for two years.
The goverment are always going on about how they want people to start there own business etc, but when we do there is no funding to help us, they would rather give this money to the scumbags who cannot be bothered to work.

WAKE UP AND SORT THIS OUT why are we still letting this happen.

Right im closing the shop, opening my legs and letting my partner get me pregant over and over again, that way this time next year ill be loaded, great plan obviously the Cromptons think so.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I was seriously disgusted by this story. This country is going to the dogs, the government have got their priorities seriously wrong. Old people who need help paying bills get nothing, whilst people who are too lazy to work get thousands of pounds handed to them. I suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, yet i still manage to work full time, i might not suffer from angina but so do thousands of other people in this country who still manage to work for a living, he is obviously healthy enough to produce 10 kids, keep chickens and make his own alcohol, so why can't he work? People who do not want to work should not be rewarded in this way. Don't the government think there are better ways to spend tax payers hard earned money instead of giving it to scroungers like Tracey and Harry? It really makes my blood boil. Did they get paid by closer for their story?? I seriously hope not. It's good to see that their oldest soon is working, but i wander for how long. And their oldest daughter is following in their footsteps by being unemplyed! Bet they are really proud of her. Something needs to be done about scroungers like them. They should have their benefits stopped and they would either have to work for a living or starve, simple really. People like Harry should be forced to have the snip after the 2nd child. Can't believe she has the nerve to demand more money from us hard workers!! If they want more money they should get off their fat backsides and go and earn it.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

How come they get carer's allowance ? He isn't ill enough for carers allowance They are a disagrace, but so is the Social Security Officer/Government office that has allowed all these benefits. Surely someone should be checking every year. He could go out to work, Angina can be controlled, he could do a job sitting down. I have suffered irritable for years, and so do other people I know and it hasn't stopped them working ! Also if her house is that dirty, I hope she never gets a job in catering, but then again, she doesn't want a job anyway. If someone offered her £40k a year she wouldn't take it, because she is just a lazy, dirty person, it's disgusting !!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I am disgusted by what she said. They say she had to bring up the children so couldnt work. No one forced her legs open to have so many kids and if you want that many make sure you can support them. I have a little boy that I miss terribley because I have to work full time. I was made redundant and found another job within a week so people cant say there are no jobs out there. Also how do they claim these credits because I couldn't get them when I was out of work I said my pay went from £21-18K and it was £10.20 child tax credit after I said I was getting less money I now get £9.95 a week can someone explain that one. I blame the government they need to clamp down on all this nonense.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I think this is just another indication of how upside down this country is. It seems that you are rewarded for not contributing to society and punished for contributing and working hard. My husband and I both work full time and have an £800 per month nursery bill to pay. This has left us in debt and desperate for these first four years of our daughters life to pass quickly, which makes me feel really sad. Clearly the people who do the right thing, working, paying bills etc are left to pick up the financial requirements of families like this. My husband and I can only afford to have one child together as we could not manage another four years of childcare, we would end up homeless.

right; as im the uncle of the girlfriend i am very concerned with what has been said? firstly my niece,s boyfriend has no job and hasn,t had a job for about 1 year they live at my mothers house my niece pays for this scrounging twat to live there. he has wecked her house and garden since he moved in .he thinks its ok to take money and not pay it back, my niece works and goes to college and he wont do anything except type shit on this and pretend its his girlfriend not him doing it, so stop pretending to be her and get a job...... your a bum and an embarrassment to our family.

I knew this woman from college, she makes me sick!

Maybe i would grow veg, feed geese, chickens for food, to save money for us working class! But unfortunatly i dont have the time, after working and studting to be a nurse, my partner working FULL TIME too, and cleaning my house (so my kids arnt ill) i also have many many kids but it dont stop me!

My veiw is she should at least go do at least 30hrs voluntary work a week!

Or maybe just get a cart and sell her veg on wed market.

Credit crunch or no credit crunch she and her husband are bums, and she has no pride in herself or her life to smile like that in the mag, but give her the due its the niceist ive ever seen her dressed.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Wow what a response from decent people here, I've had first hand experience of Tracey and this story makes me laugh. She states she only go two mornings a week to college as they would stop her benefits because they’d classify her as in education. Well what happened when you did the access course eh Tracey didn't they stop your benefits then or did you just commit benefit fraud?? She may as well stay at home and clean up as she wont get a job after the course and the state of her hygiene no one will want to employ her or even eat anything she prepares. I study and support my daughter and people like Tracey make me sick as everyone is struggling these days and she has the cheek to say she wants more money what is she going to do have another ten kids? i sincerley hope not!! The benefits agency really needs to sort itself out and provide for people who actually cant work and need assistance and stop providing for freeloaders like the Crompton's and I really do not understand why they get their rent paid in full from housing benefit as it is clear that they can afford to pay the amount themselves. On that last note all i have to say to them is dirty freeloading gits, benefit fraud is an offence.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

OMG i canot believe it
this is disgusting!!
i have just registered with closer so i can add my input
i am 18 years old and i am already working full-time in order to support my parents
who both work full-time
aswell as my older sister
my parents have always worked full-time and we all have to pay our taxes every month
even when we needed financal support we wasnt able to recieve it
my dad lost his job last christmas due to the company going into liquidation and he was out everyday looking for some work and it was a tuff 6 months but we never once recieved any money from the goverment
is that what we get for working full-time all our lifes paying for these scumbags
my dad managed to set up his own business and has now turnt things around within months
so i dont believe that the people in this article are unable to work
if he can have 10 kids and grow vegetables and surely chase chickens to eat them then why cant he get a job
it just shows by all the comments above that the majority of us know that somehtink needs to be done
we cant go on like this the more scumbags creating more scroungers then the more money we will have to pay!!
i seriously think that there needs to be an investigation into those claiming benefits
because those that need it dont get it
and those that dnt need it are getting more than us lot who are working every hour in the day to keep a roof other our heads!!

I can't believe that the goverment quite happily gives them a 7 bedroom house and a vast amount of benefits, yet can't pay emergency service workers and armed forces anywhere near the same amount! My husband is an officer in the fire brigade, previously was a police officer, and my best friend is in the armed forces, they risk their lives everyday for us and can only dream of that kind of money in return!! I work for the NHS and our combined annual salary is less that what they get, yet we have no choice but to help these people in an emergency!!!! Although they are scroungers and have no good reason not to work, we can't all blame them, the government need took look at the benefit system and make drastic changes. Lets face it if we were offered the same we would bite their hand off!!!!!

I disagree with all of the comments above! I am 22 years old n have 5 young children ageing between 1 and 8. Iv never had to work coz of my kids and i never plan on working iva. Iv bin given a 5 bedroom house and its all paid for, if anything i am jelus of the amount of money they get compared to me, thats wot i think is wrong, im a young mum and need more help than them. There dads have never stayed around and the man im with now did have a job before he went to prison. Now that income has stopped i have had to ask for more. fair enough the 'credit crunch' hasnt really bovered me to much but i still struggle sometimes, you obviously dont no wot its like to bring up kids on your own with only your family to help.
i rekkon of you could get away with having everything paid for then you would to be onest!!!

Not wanting to ever work really is pittyfull!!

I can understand mothers or father who are bringing there children up alone to want to be with there children, however children grow up and children then think its normal not to work!

Why should anyone get away with fraud, its not on!

I looked on the hull daily mail site and it shows what money grabbers the Cromptons really are as they previously tried to sue the council And claim compensation something like 700.00 for bedding ruined in a leak. I really dont know how they have the cheek to do that when really they are getting all that money and apparently some from delivering leaflets too.......the laws are changing soon and they will be forced to look for jobs within the next few years, as they wont be allowed to claim income support (unless they have another few kids!) but seriously they should be teaching their kids some valuable lessons not be a doley all your life cos its ok to sponge of decent hardworking people all your life, fake something so you can claim SDA or IB cos you get a few extra quid and try selling your life story in the hope noone local reads it and get slatted more than you normally do!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This story sums up what a joke this country is becoming. I'm in the RAF with a child and i pay for them and there 10 children. Me and my husband could be called up at anytime to go and serve overseas spend time away from our families and serve the country and my taxes goes to people like them. They say they are self sufficient because they keep chickens and geese, well if they had to work full time, like normal people do, they wouldn't have time for that. Which is why we don't. These people don't deserve to live like this, i would love to have the sort of money to "not go without" and Tracey Crompton puts it but unfortunatly i can't my son always need something and food always needs getting. They are sick, sick people and don't deserve to be given anything. I'm glad people shout "scroungers" at them they are scum, pure and simple. I'm glad to see so many people with the same opinion as me. And she will only attend college 2 mornings a week so not to lose her benifits. This family is a joke, the parents need to get off their fat arses and earn a living instead of mine and every other hard working person taxes have to pay for them.

Unbelievable. Where's the work ethic? What sort of example is being set? Fortunately, one of the kids is doing something. It doesn't excuse the attitude of the parents though. The amount of benefits they're also getting is totally ridiculous. It means there's less incentive to do something productive. Argh!

Someone she now goes to college with has stated on the hull daily mail site that she is not being truthful about the hours she is actually doing on the catering course two full days and a half day isn't what she has been telling the papers so hopefully justice will be served and all benefits will be stopped then maybe they will be forced to get off their arses n get jobs but then again they would still get enough money living off the kids!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Reading this article made my blood boil!
I have been brought it up in a family that works hard to get the things we have and these low lifes are reaping the benfits of our hard work!
The fact that the government actually supports these scroungers and pays them such a ridiculous amount in benefits is a joke! Surely they should be forcing these lazy spongers back to work and using the our money for more important things, such as ther NHS.
The problem is,although we should be exposing these benefit scroungers and shaming them, it also sends the message out to people that your actually better off not working.
Unfortunatley for as long as the government continue to throw away tax payers money to support families like the Cromptons, then the problem of benefit scroungers will just get worse.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I can't believe the comments made from the Crompton family! How ignorant and thick they are! People like them make my blood boil. They are nothing but scrounging, thick, nasty, clampits!!!!!!
They should get off their fat arses and work for a living instead of us hard working tax payers paying for them to live! Why cant they work? They dont look ill to me,god they make me sick! Noone perticually likes going to work, but we have to,to live and get the things we want in life, but not the Cromptons, any many more thousands of scrounging gits like them!
When i left my husband(for many reasons) i didnt have a clue what help i could get as i'd never made a claim in my life, but when i told the authorities i was working, they said 'well you wont get much help if your working, but if you give up working we'll pay for this, pay for that'! (i chose to carry on working and still have my dignity) i couln't believe what they were saying! Stuff that, ive got my pride!
Its all too easy these days for scroungers like the Cromptons to pop out as many kids as possible and live rent free on our taxes, havent they heard of contraception? I bet the kids get free meals at school as well? The goverment really needs to sort this out,all us hard working familys should get more help for actually going to work, and give people like the Cromptons nothing! To think i have worked my arse off for years to pay for everything they own, even going into work when ive felt like shit! God im so angry!
They'l probably be on Jeremy Kyle next week,(all expensers paid) telling all the other scrounging gits that dont go to work and watch it that theyve done nothing wrong!
Well i hope to god that our shit goverment wakes up soon to these nasty people and many more like them and makes them get off their fat arses and go and work for a living!
All us hard working tax payers can still hold our heads high with pride, unlike those who are in the gutter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think all the tax payer should go round to the scroungers house and take things from them as we have payed for them . my husband said we should go and sit and go on the game system in their house and if they ask what we are doing we can answer well we payed for it. then i pointed out that they are that lazy they proberly don't clean the house and if his ibs is that bad he can't work it would proberly have feceas all over. its about time the govement looked at people like this and said no more should we let them get away with it. my dad has parkinsons he's worked since he left school whether payed or voluntary he's worked. now he's unable to work due to the parkinsons he can't get any benefit. he's appealed against the discistion and they sent someone round to him and make him show his illness so how can mr crompton say he's too ill to work and get away with it. its not fair.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

its the govement that is making it easy for these scroungers. we don't know all the circumstances of littletinks09. we don't know what type of life she has or if her parents was scroungers like the crompton's. the point is why is it made easy for some and not for others . we work hard and aim to get something out of life. we are the one's who show our children to feel proud of themselves and have self respect.as long as we do that the scroungers will come less and less as they won't allow it when they vote their govement in. we all try our best and see these worthless self absorbed waste of spaces getting an easy ride in life and think whats the point. the point is we're better then them and they have a shock coming to them when they have to work as the children grow up. lets hope their children what better things in life and are proud to earn it. i am one of five and as i said my dad has worked since leaving school we had to go without and stuggle at christmas i think that me a better person as i wanted better for my children and for myself. maybe if these benefits where stopped for people like the crompton's they may not produce any more kids and have to work. lfe is not all about money but it helps.why should these people get everything handed to them on a plate there is no excuse. we as voters and tax payer should let the govement how we feel.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Cazz19 i agree with what your hubby says, whats theirs is ours! We should all go round and nick the veg for our sunday lunch, what with the credit crunch veg as gone up in price, and im assuming we did pay for the seeds with our taxes!
Like your dad my too as a disability (but not in the eyes of the people who make the dissions to award benifits) He walks with a stick and has had to have a knee op,but he couldn't get a penny in help as he wasn't disabled enough!! He's worked all his life, even working through the miners strike to put food on our table, because he didn't want us going down the soup kitchens.
Because he was honnest with the questions he hasn't got a penny!
I mean, they asked if he wiped his own bum! Of cause he bloody does hes got a bad leg not hand!
Surely these so called 'disabled' people lie through there teeth to get everything going, why cant the social, tax credits.disabilty people see this?! They should do more through checks, and everyone who has lied should be made to pay every penny back!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This is a working man Writing this !!!!!!!!

I have just read a colleagues magazine, and firstly I just want to say I am under the beleif if you can support your children have as many as you wish.
I however think that what this family is doing is just plain dalight robbery of me and other people I.e hardworking taxpayers.

I will however say that they are not a hundred percent to blame Ur goverment who stupidly gives these people the money to live a pleaseured lifestyle.

the thing that has really annoyed me along with half the workforce of great britain, are the stupid if not dyslex comments made by the family. how they are loving the credit Crunch !!!!!!!!!!

clearly mentally unstable or people who are not wothy to be associated with other human beings would say such a thing.

over 3 million people are to be expected out of work by the end of next year, increasing our council taxes and other bills to support people like you is not a prospect i am relishing.
these may seem a little strong but If i ever see the the adult's of this family i will not hesitate to call them alot more than a freeloading bunch of scrotes who deserve to be neautered

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

clarabella people now don't realise what doing without is now and how it used to be embarrasing get benefits how ashamed people where. they used to see it as failing their family and see themselves as failers. we used to be a proud country that would do any job to put food on the table and was able to realise who really need the benefits. i agree they should make them pay back every penny they have taken from us through lies last i heard that was fraud. the crompton's should be ashamed of themselves and should be saying please help me find a job. i am proud i can say i'm working and helping to provide for my family. i wish i could stay at home and spend more time with my children but i'm not able to i know if i don't work we wouldn't have what we have. i hope my children will want better for themselves and work hard and earn everything the get. it gives you a sence of pride and self worth.

clarabella i like it. i've got a few hours to go before i go and do my seven hour shift. i don't get how the crompton's have got away with it for so long. they should be given coupons and only to spend on food and bills. they should not be able to buy cig or beer on these coupons and made to feel embarassed of what they are. there are people out there that need help and support and don't get it . there are old people lving on vertuly nothing and don't ask for more. there are old people out there that have worked all their life and built up their homes and ended up ill and have to have care . then their house has to be sold to pay for their care. it discusting . where someone like the crompton's have no money worries at all and don't struggle. what is this country coming to where the people we should be looking after and should be saying thankyou to for giving us these choices to be who we are and how we live get nothing and left to live in poverty. CROMPTON'S GET OFF YOUR LAZY FAT ARSES AND DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR COMMUNITY TO THANK THEM FOR LETTING YOU HAVE TEN KIDS AND ALL THEIR LUXURIES> YOU SELFISH GOOD FOR NOTHING SCROUNGERS> WIPE THAT SMUG LOOK OFF YOUR FACE YOU SHOULD BE EMBARASSED NOT PROUD SCUM

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I attend Hull college with the mother, Tracy Crompton. She is taking the Adult catering course (she told us on starting she is doing this to help her husband because he does all the cooking as she cant even boil an egg!!! so why in the article does it say she spends 2 hours cooking a night???)
The course also is all day Monday and Tuesday and half day Wednesday....another lie there because the article says she attends 2 mornings a week so it doesnt affect her benefits.
At college she continuously spouts rubbish about eating right and not eating foods with chemicals in.......omg she is at least 4 stone overweight.
On Tuesday this week Tracy came to college full of herself because she had passed her driving test after over 2 years of lessons and according to her they were going out to buy a lovely big people carrier for all the family so they dont have to travel seperate on their frequent fishing trips.
According to Tracy, her Harry does everything for her and the kids in the house, so why is she getting carers allowance for him and maybe a couple of her kids (i am sure one or two of them have an illness too!) when he does it all.......he comes across as being very fit for such an ill man.
As for her comments about buying things whenever she needs them... ie shoes, clothes etc.......why does she come to college with dirty clothes, scruffy trainers and worst of all no deodorant (and constantly greasy hair and dirty nails)
She should be taken off her college course, but i doubt very much after this that she will return (she didnt show up yesterday!). She has no intention of getting a job after this training and her place could go to someone else who is taking it for the right reason. She apparently took a nursing course last year too.......all this is probably paid for by the government....(plus her very ill husband must be lonely caring for the children for at least 3 days a week while she sits in a classroom!!)

it just makes you sick doesn't it. she should realise people aren't jelous of her noone feels sorry for the crompton's so what was they trying to prove when they told the media. we all feel the same way left to struggle to pay to live and they are being handed it on a plate. she has no intention of working why should she. she gets all she wants for nothing.what do people think of us in other countries when they read things like this. the credit cruch is hitting us hard . so why should it be easy on them . if you work in a shop and you see these scum bags come in refuse to serve them luxury items. by tthe way crompton's hope you have enjoyed spending our hard earned money at HULL FAIR this week i've only been able to go once . how many times have you gone.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Now that income has stopped i have had to ask for more. fair enough the 'credit crunch' hasnt really bovered me to much but i still struggle sometimes, you obviously dont no wot its like to bring up kids on your own with only your family to help.
i rekkon of you could get away with having everything paid for then you would to be onest!!!
good luck to them!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

To the girl with 5 children......having so many children at such a young age is nothing to be proud of, are they all by different fathers too?? and the fact your current boyfriend is in prison is just testament to the type of girl you are!!
It is girls like you that end up fat and lazy like Tracy Crompton, thinking society owes you something for producing the next generation of work shy scroungers.
I am a single parent of 2 well brought up children and conciously made a decision not to have anymore because it would affect my ability to work and pay for their upbringing.
Tracy and you are a disgrace to all women out there....relying on other people to help and foot the bill for you inability to use contraception.
I am sure your family and friends are very proud of you both.
And a message for Tracy......If your going to brag about your wonderful husband at college again, please remember we all know he is a loser and a work phobic scrounger now, also realise you have been proved a complete liar!!!!
Wouldnt it be nice if she came on here to at least attempt to defend her and her husbands actions, or is she in hiding from the social???

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

To all who have left me comments:

Yes I am young to hav 5 kids and i do rely on benifits..but with out knowing my background what gives you the right to make the comments you hav? I will not have my 1 year old twins in a nursery so that i can do a dead end job that wont cover half the cost there is involved in bringing up 5 kids, they are better of through me not working. My Kids dont have the luxury of having there dads around so i will gladly take the money i get to give them as best life as they can have. I could have put my kids in care and left sumone else to bring them up and the goverment will still have to pay for them them, what would you prefer.. they have me around to give them some sort of 'normal' life or they go through not noing there parents and feeling unwanted?
i dont smoke, neva have and neva will so to the LAMBERT joker..puff on that!!!!!!. yes i drink when i go out with my mates like twice a month!!
you all been well quick to juge me and wiv your comments but look at in from my view now...
I dont fake being sik to get money, my kids are clean and the 3 that are at school, especially my eldest are very smart and do very well. i teach em to learn from me by staying at school and get an education so that rude peopl cant be horible becos they cant spel!!
get a grip and look at the real scum..ppl who cant get a job cos ther busy jakin up in an allyway or dont need a job cos ther selling drugs and guns to kids and ppl who r fakin it...
and yer i am jelus of the mony the REAL SPONGERS get and SO ARE YOU or else y wud u be commentin on here? ur anoyed that you have to work all hours ect to pay yor bills and not get half what they do. ther larfing at you all still cos what you rite dont change a thing.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I was horrified at the article about Tracy and Harry Crompton gaining more money from all the benefits they claim because of the credit crunch, i think its absolutley disgusting they should be ashamed of themselves, and boast about what they spend there money on whilst there are hardworking people (us the tax payers) are struggling with bills and mortgages. I have worked since the age of 18 when i left college, i also have a chronic kidney condition and i manage to keep down a full time job and run a home, i no kids though and it has'nt done me any harm i think people don't want to work and there ambition in life is to live of benefits and get provided houses for them because its an easy life, if they look hard enough there are jobs out there you know.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Littletinks09 - You are exactly the same as them, having an attitude like that will get you no where in life and i hope to god your lazy attitude does not rub off onto your 5 children. Perhaps you should have stayed in school and learnt basic literacy before having 5 children and relying on the rest of us to support them

I am only 21 and have worked EVERY day since leaving full time education at 17. I pay my taxes every month as do my parents who have worked full time their whole lives. I have never and WILL never rely on benefits to support me. In my current job i hear OLD people worry so much about the current economical situation and it makes me sick the little the government are doing to help them.......yet this family sit around on their fat backsides all day, living the life on OUR money. I pay my taxes for the NHS and for my future childrens education, not for these free loading scum to support their family. I am hoping to train as a paramedic next year and am working every hour under the sun to accomodate for the pay cut i will hit. Yet this woman can not go and get a job as she will loose money!!!!!! It makes me sick to the stomach!

Will the goverment please wake up and see what is going on!!! Why cant these people, whose children are ALL of school age do some voluntary work or jobs for the council in recognition for the money they receive. Instead they send in articles like the above basically sticking two fingers up at the people that will be paying for their dinner tonight and the presents under their tree on Christmas day.

I hope when i am older i can provide the same lavish gifts for my family at christmas but it would be entirely funded myself.
GORDON BROWN - SORT THIS OUT.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I have just got in from my HARD DAYS WORK and wanted to comment on littletink09 comment.
If your not happy with any of the comments about you then you shouldn't have said such pathetic things! You chose to tell everyone how 'jealous' you are of the Cromptons benifits, what on earth did you think everyone would say? Aww she's a nice hard working girl! I mean, come on love, you say you never intend on working,WHY SHOULD'NT YOU????? What gives you more right over any other person in this country? Your obviously being paid far too much in benifits, cos as you say your kids are smart and dont go without, and you wouldn't get as much money working,as you do in benifits, how on earth do you think us hard working familys cope?....Through hard work and pride, thats how!
You obviously have no morrels,or you'd be working for a living,im sure everyone would want alot more money, but all us that choose work over benifits, have pride in knowing that everthing we own has been paid for through hard work!
Why should your kids get more than ours?
And your right to say were only angry because the Cromptons and you get more money than us,WHY should you? Your just as capable as working as the rest of us,but you get more a year for sitting on your arses and poping out kid after kid!!!!
WAKE UP,AND GROW UP!
I suppose ur pc your typing on came from somebodys hard earned taxes aswell, well i hope it blows up!!!!!
One last thing, you say you teach your kids well, well i hope they can spell better than you,or we'll be paying for them too when they cant get a job!!!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Littletinks09 i understand what your saying and all the best to you for doing what your doing, but you choose to have 5 kids, why should the rest of us who work pay for them. i don't imgine for one minute that its easy and i know i couldn't manage with 5 kids, but when people are able to work but don't becase they get more money given them to the government it becomes a joke. what would the government do if we all decided to leave our jobs and they had the whole country to support. I'm not jealous of these people because i work hard to give my son everything he needs and so he knows that to get anywhere in life you need a job and to support yourselves. However when you see these articles it seem like it doesn't actually pay to work. I've worked full time since i was 17 and i've had times where i've struggled to make ends meet, and i earn a decent wage, but i wouldn't swap lives with this family because i come home at the end of the day and know that the money i've got in the bank is what i've worked for not what was handed to me on a plate, and thats never going to change. littletinks you fail to mention if you choose not to work or if you can't work, having kids will not prevent this, my son has been in nursery full time since he was 6 months old, however i still managed to breastfeed him give him tea and spend plenty of time with him around my work hours. i do not feel like i have missed out on any of his growing up and hes a bright, active little boy who is exceptional in social situations having always been around other kids and adults. and as for paying for childcare if you work the government will help towards it.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

And you don't have to get a dead end job go to college get a education and get a career. plenty of women do it, i do and alot of my friends do. its people like you that are diverting money away from where its really needed like the Armed Forces, The NHS and the Education system, these are grossly underfunded yet the country can afford to give you and the cromptons all the money you need without getting of your arses. Its a joke. My family will have everything they want this christmas but i will be paying for all of it with money i've saved and earnt over this year, because i'm not a charity case. And by the way I'm from Hull so please people don't think we are all like this, because my whole family have always worked and earned what they have.

littletinks09 and Tracy should be ashamed of themselves there are couples out there who earn money and would do anything to have kids but they can't and theres girls like that who pop them out and repopulate britan by themselves without giving it another thought. I know a couple who were told they couldn't have IVF on the NHS because they earnt to much money, doesn't that prove they can support a family. But unfortunatly littletinks09 is right what we say on here will not change a thing and they moght be laughing but they should know that when the kids grow up the money will stop and then one day they will have nothing left, but then you have a load of kids who think its ok not to work.

so instead of our money going towards decent good things is goes to people like this!!!!!!if you cant afford kids without claiming benefits...DONT HAVE THEM!!!!!!!! this is a vicious circle that is gettin well out of control! its about time our country looked at was is right and stops throwing money and dirty little scrubbers like these who cant be arsed to get off their backsides and earn a living...enough on this post before i throuw this computer through the window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!one final thing to say......

Nothing that someone capable of knocking out 10 kids isnt capable of! Makes me sick! This country is a joke, no wonder we have so many immigrants coming over here, the countrys a pushover. RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

By reading these comments, its great to know that there are DECENT people out there!! I agree with you all... this is a disgrace. I read the article and it just made me furious. I don’t understand how these people can be proud of what they are doing, and the example they are setting to their children. They obviously couldn’t afford to have children so why breed, the thing that really gets to me is that those children are going to grow up thinking its perfectly ok to sit on their backsides whilst tax payers pay for their luxuries.... The credit crunch is great for them.... of course it is.. It doesn’t affect them!!! What would happen if we ALL decided to PLAY the government and make a complete joke of the way this country is run! I have worked full time since i have left school, and for what... to barely scrap buy every month. I can’t afford those type of luxuries... but they can on MY TAX MONEY!!!! I don’t have children at the moment, but in the future it will be impossible for me to have children without going back to work, so i have to go back to work so my children can eat and have a roof over their head. So i have to miss out on bringing my children up, so we are penalized for doing the right thing. Where is the support and benefit for people that are working and struggling with mortgages.. there isn’t any!!!!! Who are the mugs here.... them or US!?? One word left to say... JOKE!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

i know!!fair enough i understand some people are left as single mothers and struggle. but its not IMPOSSIBLE for them to work!!!!benefits that single mothers get should be for BARE ESSENTIALS (nappies/food etc) if they really cannot work!!!!!! not thousands of pounds on christmas presents!!!! thing is there will be people that also read this and use it as an example...they read what these people have got from doing f**k all and follow their lead!!!!

another thing that makes my BLOOD BOIL about this article is that my grandparents are both in their late seventies, one has altzeimers and one has dementia and they both live in a nursing home....they both worked FULL TIME all their lives and saved up to enjoy retirement...unfortunately the money they have saved all their lives cannot now be spent on the things it was intended for!!!!!!
that money is now funding them staying in the home and being cared for!!!!! which is over 700 a week!!!!!!and because of the amount of money they had saved and the value of what they own it means they HAVE to pay to live there!.....wen if families like this were in the same situation, because they hadnt got savings etc..they would get it all for free..... to top it all off...if anything happened to my grandparents (touch wood it wont) the filthy governmant then claim 40% inheritance tax and take that money for what............................... to spend on these lowlifes!!!!!!!........................................(to be continued)....

......i think it is a disgrace that my grandparents worked their arses off all their lives and saved hard to enjoy time with their family and travel aqfter retiring...and why shudnt they?!!!!!. my mum and uncle have now had their house decorated and are renting it out so that can help fund their lifes at the home.but why should the government have any rights to what they pass on to their loved ones?!!!!!!! the tax has been paid already...the money has nothing to do with them it makes me sick. i would rather they take their money and throw it in the bin than give it to these lazy scum!!!!
everyone moans about childcare being so expensive but have any of these SCRUBBER SCROUNGING TRAMPS ever thought that if they werent taking all the money from our tax to fund their lifestyles, they could put the money in to set up childcare and creches so parents can work?!!!!! of course not that would be too easy and these people dont think of things like this...half of them probably didnt even go to school and no doubt are following in their own parents footsteps!
this country is a disgrace and it makes me ashamed to be english!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its about time people all got together and made a stand for what is right and stop these tramps living off our money!!!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Dear Closer

I have just been reading your latest mag-311 the artical 'the credit crunch is great for us' real life story and to be honest i am absolutley ragging with it!!

I am 24 i jointly own a flat with a friend, i am in full time work and try and do part time work-like the rest of the population it is a real struggle to survive at the moment, aswell as pay for every day things like fuel, food and bills-it is on on treat for me to spend 1.20 on your mag!! Let alone be in primark every 2weeks!!!

So i am sure i am not along in being livid when i read that the 'CROMPTONS' are living the lavish lifestyle and get nearly 32k a year (of take payers money, it's nice to know i am contributing to that)for doing sweet FA i think it is a ridiculous and shows every reader what a bloody joke our goverment are for letting this happen, and the government wonder why there is such a high teenage pregnancy rate-well they should open their eyes and see that this is such a fantastic insentive to have a baby or lots of them and get benefits galore!

I think i have made my point!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Little Tinks

Given your comments over this article I feel I have to respond again. You've said in the second that you spend most of what you get on your 5 kids (all fathered by different men I presume!!), don't smoke (which I'm not knocking) and only go out twice a month!!!!!!!

I've been out twice this year and the second time was for my daughter's 18th Birthday - perhaps your kids would be better off in care then you could go out, work full time and pay YOUR taxes to assist in bringing them up maybe then you'd understand why everyone is so angry. Especially the people caring for the genuinely sick and the people that go out to protect our Country.

WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES ANYONE LISTED ABOVE OWE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This article made me and my colleagues sick. I currently work for a benefit department and despite being 25 have worked every day since leaving school. I have nothing against people claiming benefits who need support in their lives, but I feel the government does not do enough to support families who try and work and support themselves, yet will fund a lifestyle like this one!!!
There is no other country in the world where people are rewarded for sponging off of the state, its no wonder we have an economic crisis on our hands when hard working taxpayers money is giving these people a life they DO NOT deserve!!!

Closer, I hope that this family were not paid for their story, and if they were I hope they are delcaring it to their benefit departments, scrounging is bad enough but fraud is much worse!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I agree with all the comments above, it made me so angry when i read this story, just make's you see that we should all never go out and work and have as many kids as possible, coz the govement will support you, my parents have always worked so hard for everything they have and my dad being 57 still has to go out and do 17 hours days to earn enough to survive, I've worked full time since i was 16, i've just found out i'm pregnant and trying to sort out child care for when i return to work because i HAVE to come back to work after full time as i have rent and bills to pay, and this govement won't help people like me it make you sick, they look so happy with themselfs in the main picture, No wonder people shout things at them when they walk down the street... you know what its not actually their fault that they get given everything they are just quite cleaver about it... its this govement that needs sorting out....

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I totally agree with everyones comments!!! The UK is an absolute JOKE!!!!
That is why I live in SPAIN!!!! I was so sick of the way the country's run.Sadly my two daughters are still there, they had weekend jobs when they were 14 and have worked full time ever since they left school, in fact one of my daughters also has a part time evening job as well just so she can make ends meet!!! I always brought them up saying "If you want anything in this life you have to work for it, no one gives you anything!!!!! " Well that's obviously not the case any more. This article has sickened me and i just hope it has been brought to Gordon Brown's attention!!!!!!
From a very angry Ex Pat !!!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

OMG......this family makes me sick!! i'm only 17 but both my parents work very hard to provide for me and my siblings and still struggle. We don't get to see much of them during thhe week as they are working all the hours they can, whilst families like these are just sat around letting everybody else pay for them!! it really makes me sick! i have been working since i was 15, and fair enough i have no bills to pay etc as im still at home with parents but i would never dream of turning out like the cromptons. They are a disgrace to the UK and it is disgusting what our country is turning in to! i hope they get caught out and have 2 actually do something for a living! Also what is the point in having so many kids if you can't even look after them-totally PATHETIC!!!
Grrrrr it makes me so mad!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Reading this story has made me fume, this family are low life scum, so he says he can't work, well bully for him he isn't confined to a wheelchair or severly disabled so why the hell can't he work!! Ibs what wtf has that got to do with not working he's a lazy bastard. Maybe i should quit my job then since i am epileptic i need tablets to control my fits which can happen at any time! But guess what you lazy bastards i go to work 5 days a week 8 hours a day, i was brought up properly by hard working parents who werent exactly rich but they got by like most people do its called LIFE!

I am sick of this shithole of a country who gives out benefits willy nilly to low life scum, what the hell are they playing at, there are lots of angry people on here and i agree with them all. All these people on income support should be assessed to make sure they are actively seeking work, and i'd bet money that more than half aren't coz they're allowed to get away with it when is this country and those twats sitting in parliament gonna wake up and do something about it.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This familys son who made his stupid comment is clearly full of bullshit , he doesnt work and never will lazy bastard. i feel sorry for his girlfriend she sounds like a decent girl well judging by what her uncle said, throw him out and stand on his private parts whilst he's on the ground! As for little tinks you need a kick up the arse girl, you're nothing but a poncing twat yourself. You seriously expect us to feel sorry for you ha your'e a joke lass. So what if you have 5 kids, keep your legs closed if you can 't afford to pay for your kids. You plead poverty that you're not getting enough benefits get of your ass and work. Coz i'm sick and friggin tired of working hard paying taxes for you scumbags. If you don't like what people are saying about you don't talk such crap, waste of space. You and families alike should be put in some shithole council house maybe then you'd get yourself a job. No-ones saying you don't look after your kids fair play.I have to listen to people in my line of work telling me i'm on benefits, income support blah blah blah job seekers and all the rest. There are so many people out there that actually need help and get jack all, this family should be made homeless, like someone wrote on here that fat thing who calls herself a wife probably won't even go back to college she'd get lynched , as for him how about we all line up and make sure he's disabled then he'll actually be entitled to benefits. Sorry if thats harsh but at this moment in time thats how i feel.

Had to do that in 2 parts

Learn how to use a Condom you filthy uneducated peasant's. Oh no wait you know how to use them (just) but you think the prospect of having more kids with no means to support them is a good thing because the state and every tax payer in the country will instead.

You get almost the same money I do in a technical job with university level education. Hope your happy with yourselves.

Saying that If the government were willing to pay me £33k to sit on my arse and f*** my wife I'd jump at the chance beats working for a living huh?. This guy needs to wise up and be a man.

Its the system to blame just as much as them idiots. Time to let these people starve to send out the message that It won't be tollerated.

briony- lou,

i feel terribly for you! i know how hard it is in the current climate without having to worry about two little girl aswell. its a very sad story and knowing that there are people out there like this family, bleeding the country dry of resources that the rest of the working population deserve. im only 19 but i work a full time job and pay for the things i need, and a roof over my head, and it makes me very angry that Mrs. Crompton in particular, wont do anything to provide for her family or set a decent example. what an absolute bugger!

once a scrounging tramp always a scrounging tramp and thats what littletinks is!!!!! her 5 (probably scruffy) children will be brought up just the way she was to have a stinking attitude like this!!!!!!
shes said she has no intention of workin 'iva' as she put it ( for everyone elses records i think she means 'EITHER'!

the thing that makes me sick also is that who is paying to keep her criminal boyfriend alive in prison?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

US ...again!!!!!!he was probly a druggy anyways who got caught selling drugs he bought with his giro from our tax!!! prisoners dont deserve to sit in their little cells being fed on our money!!!if it was up to me every criminal would be tortured and starve to death!!!!!!!! why the hell keep these scumbags on this planet!!!
im sure theres some qualities that attrated you to your dirty boyfriend little tinks but then again by the sounds of it youre tempted easily by quite a few other men aswell! i agree with twistoffate! keep your slaggy little legs closed and stop poppin kids out!!!!

oh and the comment about making him genuinely disabled made me laugh i think its a good idea...maybe if he was he would realise there are people desperate for help and not just LAZY TWATS!!!!!!!!!

i think on top of everything else...girls should have to have the contraceptive implant to get the teenage pregnancy rate down!
that way it might leave whats left of our tax money to go towards things worth while!!!!!!!

having just read the article 'the credit crunch is great for us' i have steam blowing out of my ears i am so angry. wot is wrong with these people, gloating about being bone idle and poor examples of our society. As for mr crompton and his ailments, what a joke. my father in law has angina, is 58 and works full time as do many other people with irritable bowel syndrome, it really is laughable. and what an example they are setting to their children who will sadly but more than likely follow in their parents footsteps and as will their children and so on and so on. come on mr and mrs crompton, have a little pride and put something back into society, get a job encourage your children to do the same and stop abusing the system, its there for people who genuinely need it, and sadly you dont, just taking advantage of a great british service that is abused too often.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Right this is becky from the picture, i have to say yes i am decent ive worked since i was 14 and im 19 tomorrow and i currently have a part time job (18 hours) and got to college. Not to be awful but every single person in the world has been deceived by closer, they have lied (i swear to god on my OWN families lives) that they have left bits out and lied their a***s off, for a start tracey doesn't claim for her three eldest as their too old now, second they kids don't get all them fizzy drinks as tracey don't buy them cause the kids go hyper, as im sure most do. They aint gettting DS's for christmas and haven't spent £3000 they have been buying a bit at a time since january (as im sure most families do to spread the cost) BTW THEY SHOP AT TES** OR A**A and buy the cheap own brand stuff like smart price, and don't even spend 250 they do about 150 and that's not a lot for 11 people now is it, They don't have a vineyard, they have a few grape bushes from wil***sons (can't advertise lol) that haven't even fruited yet as they too young, see doesn't have a great big slide in the garden (if she does i haven't seen it, must be invisable. Tracey has been looking for a job since she first started college two years ago doing the nursing course when her youngest child finally started school, (joshy) and yes harry has been signed off from working as he CAN'T work he doesn't just have IBS and angina he has malignant hypertension and athiritus in his back and shoulders, and more, but NO closer didn't wanna tell the truth, CLOSER came round for a story and how they were coping in the credit crunch, not doing great in it, they also don't have 25 chickens what an overexageration LMAO they have 6 chickens, BTW CLOSER ARE YOU BLIND YOU LYING CHEATS THEIR HOUSE AINT SEMI DETACTED IT'S TWO HOUSE IN A COUNCIL TERREACE (can't spell it)

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Honest to god it's not true and im so angry and upset by what they wrote and yes the children have been ragged already and put thro hell this week it's not fair especially when it's not true, and closer put the lies just to sell mags well i dunno who are the money grabbers there Im sure your smart hannah and paper do write lies to sell paper look at celebs and the shit they get from the media. BTW College chef You say your gonna say something to tracey on monday bet you won't cause you wouldn't even put your real name. So there's a contridiction you know tracey don't dress that great so how does she buy new clothes everyweek like closer said HUH? obv another lie.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I think this family is absolutely disgusting and a prime example of what is wrong with our society!! My dad has has been treated like a criminal for simply applying for benefits because of people like this. Due to a health problem he had to take early retirement but, down to a 'technicality', he was unable to have access to his pention: despite being a teacher for 15 years and paying into two pensions. Without my dads income my parents take in less than this freeloading family, and constantly worry about finances. Benefits are supposed to JUST support you, not have you living in the lap of luxury, and spending £3000 on christmas presents for your ten children. Their selfish and spoilt attitude only infuriates me more. These people should be ashamed of themselves and stop swanning around without a care in the world. If you ask me, the government should stop their benefits and force them to work, instead of living off the rest of us! The system does not work!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

My husband and I are quite happy with our lot, we are so very fortunate even though we struggle at times. There are many who are struggling hard in the present climate. Sadly a lot of those who are struggling won't struggle through another harsh winter. This family, if the article is to be believed, should be made an example of to all benefit fraudsters and scroungers in Britain.
If this is the way in which benefits are to be abused in this country I am hardly surprised that it is losing it's national pride and identity. In fact if these people are an example of how 'great' Great Britain has become I do not wish to be a part of this new era.

As an after thought, if the family member who seems so incensed by the 'lies' told by Closer had any brains they would insist on taking them to court and sue for damages. I'll be interested in seeing that happen as every part of their lives will be minutely investigated to show the truth. The family certainly would want to clear their 'good' name wouldn't they?

In fact, Closer, take this delightful shining example of humanity to court for accusing you of slander please. I await your article........

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I appeal to all us hard working tax payers to do your duty and drop every benifit cheat you know into the authorities! You can do it annonomously through the BENIFITS CHEATS WEBSITE.But like me most of you are pig sick of providing for these good for nothing scum that i dont mind dropping um in it and leaving my details!
Why the hell should us decent folk go to work to keep them in their chavvy clothes, fund their beer and drug habbits, and pay for them to live! We have to pay our own way in life, often struggling with the many bills,so why should they get a free life!
Most of the benifit cheating gits in my town obviously get far too much anyway because there in the town every day, loads of spogs in tow, spending OUR money on boose, fags, drugs, clothes etc,i think they shouldn't get money, because their kids dont get looked after anyway, they should get vouchers, one for food, and the others for utility bills, and a clothing voucher, that way it would stop them wasteing OUR hard earned cash on things that us hard workers have to save hard for!
Someone i know is on the social and she even gets her car tax and mot paid! She is working 16hours a week,(i give her her due) but she is also working on the side for cash in hand! (i work 30+ hours a week and have had to sell my car and now walk to work) This makes me sick!...So every good person of this country,do your bit today and dob on a cheating, tax pinching, good for nothing scrounger, I HAVE,AND IM PROUD OF IT!!!!!! : )

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Ive just got to leave my last comment for Abbey.
WHAT ALOAD OF BOLLOCKS YOU TALK! Talk about not leaving names,we all know your a family member.
All who have left comments have done so because its a magazine feature and we were asked to leave comments, the feature is about THE CROMPTONS,thats why were all talking about them,so get off your high horse and do everyone a favour and go away! When youve left school then maybe you can have your say,(but looking at your spelling you have a long way to go)
Im not in there situation because unlike them i dont lie and cheat the system, ive got pride and morrels, thats why i work and they dont!
Ive got no skeletons in my closet, only clothes and shoes i brought from MY HARD EARNED WAGES.
If i knew this family believe me i would still be saying 'this shit' but to their faces, but thankfully i dont, all my friends are hard working tax payers!
If your parents are so rich little girl, then why the hell haven't they packed you off to a private school?I mean for someone who comes from , i quote,a well off family, you haven't exactley had a good education have you?
The Cromptons are by no means an ordinary family, thats why closer did this feature,to bring to our attention, the 'cheating, tax pinching, good for nothing scroungers' of this country!

And yes,i am cleaver, alot more than you thank god, because my parents brought me up knowing right from wrong!
Something the Cromptons know nothing about!

Ive got better things to do now than talk about this allnight, ive got a well earned holiday to book, and hopefully Cuba wont be full of chavvy benifit cheating bastards!
If i dont hear back from you,i can assume your off tending to your pony's or something, seeing as your a little rich girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

yup im a little rich girl.. whats your point..
oh for you information.. i don't own a pony..

And to back up the cromptons even more!!!
Their kids do know right from wrong..

I have to agree about cuba, loverly place.. not any chavs there..
Dude, if you've got money you stil don't have to go to a private school.. and what actually makes you think i don't?

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Well well, Tracey turned up a college today......I did hear her tell a student that she would sue Closer but she signed a contract after proof reading the article they were going to write.
Why the hell did she sign to accept the article if it was just a big load of lies.
Alot of all the anger on here is because she is broadcasting the amount of money she gets......if Harry has been unable to work for years then why did they produce more children knowing that it would be the benefit system supporting them.
Seems to me that Tracey did this article to try and highlight that even tho we are in a credit crunch, surviving on benefits/low wages was possible. Sadly it back fired because working is as much about pride and responsibility as it is about money. The working people of this country are punished for having pride and punished by wanting to take responsibility for their offspring.
When you get money for doing nothing and broadcast the fact so openly it angers the people who are truely working their bollocks off!!
Hope you learnt ur lesson Tracey....keep ur mouth shut (even if you cant manage the same with your legs)

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

while the rest of us are working around the clock just to give our families the essentials we need to get by,these wasters are sat on their backsides doing nothing!when will our government wake up and try and sort this problem out,the honest people who are working day in and day out,are paying for the scroungers to live a life of luxary.me and my husband usually pass in the door way as i come home from work, and he leaves for work as do thousands of other people in this country.how can this man say hes too sick to work,he is well enough to make all those kids which is a lot more strenuous than a lot of jobs!!he is lucky he gets to spend time with his wife in the bedroom, some of us dont get that luxary due to endless hours spent earning a living!!I hope they enjoy their christmas with their thousands of pounds worth of prezzies, some children wont be that lucky, but at least my children appreciate what they get even more because they know the sacrafices we as parents make to make sure they get all they need. These people should be made to work,as should their older children it shows the example they are teaching them, that its fine to take other peoples hard earned cash!!!!absolute trash!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I am shocked that this family have not been reported to the Benefits Agency. It is quite obvious to all that he is more than capable of doing some work as he is able to maintain a vegetable garden and tend to livestock.

Not only that, why are the oldest children going out to work? And as for he mother, how can she sit on her backside all day not doing housework! It's an absolute disgrace!

My partner works 50 hours a week for not a lot of money and we struggle on a daily basis just to keep us and our 3 children going.

Abbey you're talking out of your ass. As a matter of fact we do have an exciting life and you know why coz we work hard to pay for it, unlike this bunch of scum if you don't like what we're saying get lost! What situation are they in then little girl, poncing of the government they have it so hard don't they. ha what a joke.

As for becky if what the magazine have wrote is so wrong why arent they doing something about it, you just don't like hearing the truth this family is scum, you're just trying to cover up for them, my dad has arthuritis and still works, i hope there benefits get stopped make the bastards go out and work. One of these days this shitty government is gonna get to grips and stop benefits for lazy people , people who genuinely need them should get them. People on jsa should be assesed to make sure they are actively seeking work the list is endless. We let anyone and everyone in this sodden country and a vast majority of them are on benefits , makes me so proud to be a british citizen ha NOT

Yes i agree that person claiming to be Abbey is clearly one of the scroungers from the pciture!!
Good try but not good enough you can tell by what she is saying because if her family where hard-working rich tax-payers i am sure they would not want to be associated with this spongers!!
I love that everyone is saying the same things except for the made-up accounts!
And we are not sad because we are leaving our comments because we pay our taxes so why shouldn't we be pissed off about this article being published during such a hard time!
I have already left a comment and re-visited to get an update and to be onest i am not suprised by the amount off comments which have been left on here since.
Its just shows there really are some decent british people out there who are sick to death off paying taxes and not recieving anythink for it!
As for the children writing comments backing up the Cromptons you have no write to say anythink because you don't even pay taxes yet thats if you ever get a job!! in that case you proberly never will!!
And why can't the older children get a job and start paying there way ??
Or have they injured there backs growing vegetables!!!

OMG Have you heard the lot of you< you sad pathetic stay at home mums, who have clearly nothing better to do than read a magazine with as much human intrest in it as the flippin oxford english dictionary.

Really this story is not about morality or the fact these people are scroungers.
the issue is about the fact they are getting paid copious amounts of money and living the life of riley !!!! WHY ???

because our stupid goverment allows its

you are all sat there calling kids !!!! who to be frank wouldnt know how to screw the benefits agency if it came and bit them on the arse.

and ask yourselves realy which job do you know of that will pay for a mortgage and help to feed ten kids.

what this family is doing isnt immoral, or scrounging they have asked for help from a goverement that to be frank is as much good as a chocolate tea pot.

really the lot of you grow some intellect, and the odd braincell, and ask yourselves whos the real criminal. a family who need some !!!!! support or a goverment that has not even asked this family to legitimise any of their beneift claims XXXX

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Hi every body want some truth i can give you want you want to here. Harry sad to say its my oldest brother.
Harry has not worked since the mid 70's as far as I know and that was for less than a year, they are both publicity seekers and for the last 4 years been in the paper for their house been haunted and the council going to pay for their house to be cleaned which they refused, and now bragging about the money they get for sitting on their backsides.
If they are capable of having 10 kids and Harry is doing all the house work, cooking, gardening and looking after the kids, he does not need a carer he needs a job.
If our parents were alive they would have been ashamed of having you as a son as I am ashamed of you as a brother.
and think about how you are hurting your own children and what a bad example you are setting for them, you don’t understand the children will be getting bullied and tormented by their peers if you really loved them you would not put them through this,
You are the only one in the family who does not work for a living even all our children work for what they want in life, all my children are in full time employment since leaving college, as are my husband and I, so do us all a favour and get off your backsides and get a job...

Another embarrassed family member.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

i have to agree with xxxlove-itxxx's comments above!

i think this 'Mr Edwards' is a total plonker, and i have never heard so much rubbish in all my life!

And he's only saying this so he can cause an argument and as for calling another member of this site a bitch is totally childish and uncalled for!!!!

maybe he's just sad and lonely, and has no friends!!!!!

this family is disgraceful and should know better than to go to a magazine and boast about the £32,000 a year they get from benefits when i work 40 hours a week and only get £9000 a year, i think they wrote into closer just to get some extra cash, as they get paid for writing true life stories!!!!

i think whoever this 'Mr Edwards' is, needs to get a life, and probably a girlfriend!!!

oh and have you also read in the daily star about the couple who also have ten kids, but both work and support their kids without no benefits so 'Mr Edwards' of course there are jobs that will pay for a mortage and support ten kids so shut your mouth and please get off this debate because you obviously have no clue what the hell your talking about!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Harry the reason you are getting so much bad publicity is because of what you have said, why did you feel the need to let the public know what you were getting from the government and what you have spent on the children for christmas.
there are a lot of people in hull and across the country who work hard for a living who are struggling to pay bills and feed their family let alone buy luxury items for their children for christmas.
How do you think they feel when their children have to do without, it hurts when they want so much to give their children nice things but they can't.
Your story is an insult to all the families who go out to work for a living shame on you harry.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Ashamed family member "possibly dawn or kerry?" You've been out of contact with harry for a while now so you obviusly don't know anything and are quite ignorant of the situation, harry while the kids where growing up had three jobs including HGV driving but did become too ill to work, even if he tried no get a job no one will take him on because of his list of illnesses as he is a risk to health and safety and employers would be in breach if they did employ him. That's fact. He also welcomes an investigation by the DLA as he knows for a fact he has nothing to hide as does tracey, if they both worked or tracey worked they would actually receive more money In Working tax credit and child tax credit, what they receive now for their 7 children that are elliable for child benefits would not change as every child is entitled. I for one can hold my head high as i work part time and also attend college and when im not a college i try to do overtime that's avaliable upto 45 hours (my max in my work place A**A) to be continued..

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Obviously after my truth statement every one is still not listening to me as i did say closer contacted them not the other way round and the reason their smiling is because of the growing their own veg (which is why they agreed to the article they didn't even know what they would print) and neither parties signed contracts to do with the words on either side as the articles holds more lies then most newspapers if you would care to contact us then i would certainly allow you to see the truth of the matter including the rent sheet stating how much rent is paid and the so called "vineyard" and also the slide they apparently have . They truth stares you right in the eyes as tracey never wanted more money and certainly wouldn't brag to the world knowing the shit they would get. If you want to visit i can also prove they haven't spent 3000 on presents and the fact that ALL the children don't have mobiles the two youngest are too young as it is to have them and use them.

. Thanks for listening it would be nice if you saw the truth and made contact again with the family as family weather close or distant is nice to have.

The reason I am having my say is because we are also getting insulting comments at us for the story harry has given, and we work hard and do not deserve the comments we are getting, and also our parents are being insulted for not bringing us up properly and they are no longer here to defend themselves. You say closer magazine contacted him he did not have to give them the story, if the magazine has lied then why on earth has harry not got in touch with the magazine or the papers and denied what was written.

The Cromptons looking at ALL the comments are getting exactly what they deserve!! If you didn't want people to know your business you shouldn't air your very, very dirty laundry in public.

How sorbabe can continue to justify their exisistance is beyond me. It's their kids I feel sorry for because they never had a choice in this but the older ones have the power to make a decision over what is clearly the right thing to do but are now at the point where they think all this is OK because they've seen Mom and Dad get away with it for so long.

Point clear is

"GET OFF YOUR LAZY FAT ARSES, SORT YOUR HOUSE OUT AND GET A GOD DAMN JOB SO THE REST OF US DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR YOU ANYMORE - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".

I would just like to leave a comment on this story

I also attend college with Tracey, the course is 2 and a half days a week, not 2 mornings like she claim

While in class on Monday morning, she was telling people the story was one big pack of lies
I asked her why she didnt sue the magazine then?
Her reply was "I cant because I signed a contract!"
I told her she must have proof read the article before signing then
Her reply was "I did, but they said they would change some things!"
Surely she wouldnt sign until she was happy with the story.
I myself think she did this story originally did this story to highlight that people can survive during the credit crunch even if they are on benefits.
Trouble is it bit her on the arse when she let people know just how much benefits this family gets.
The money may be the families entitlement as the government sees it, but, there is a difference being entitled to something and deserving something!!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I read this and my blood boiled. There are people in this world who need the money more then they do. I think that the DWP should re asses them. Tracey can easily work but they know the system so well they know how to get around things and keep the benefits, I know a couple who have an autistic child and they receive hardly any financial help. They could put the money this family is wasting to good use.

What family needs two XBoxes and two Playstations? That is a luxury few people can afford. I laugh when I watch Wife Swap and Jamie's Ministry of Food and see people on benefits with massive TV's and leather sofas!!!

This is a f**king disgrace!! I have been working since I was 16 I am now 19, I have my own flat and pay TAX and all my bills. Its ridiculous this story I would not have kids until I have a job and have enough money to bring them up, this is setting a VERY BAD example to all TEN of their kids. Its not fair how they sit on there a*se all day long (Well do their garden and sort out the chickens) and get a life of luxury while people like me go to work everyday and pay bills and tax and have to leave a normal life without all the luxuries and treats. I think it’s about time people like this get sorted out and stop receiving all these benefits!!!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

It saddens me to think that the hardworking population of the UK is funding the lifestyle for people like this, but saddens me even more that this family recieve more money in benefits than a lot of the genuine workers of this country.

A magazine cannot publish a story, without getting the facts correct, otherwise they could be sued. So I can't really imagine Close omiting information or "just making it up" for legal reasons. Not only that, I understand that you have to approach the magazine to have your story printed, so what on earth were they thinking?

I can't quite understand what reaction they were expecting once this story had been printed. Did they think that we would say "well done", or "congratulations, screw the system" .....

I think the overall feelings of the people who have posted here are, Disgust, shame, embarrasment, anger and I would go so far as hatred towards this family.

The worst thing is, and you all know this....nothing will change. Scroungers will carry on scrounging, single parents will carry on producing, benefit cheats will prosper and the working population will get poorer.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I know this has probably all been said before but these people are actually disgustingly foul pieces of scum.... I don't normally wish anybody harm but I would NOT GIVE A FLYING MONKEY if these so called 'people' died tomorrow...in fact...it would be good because then we''d have a little less weight to look after. Honestly they are like big babies who can't support themselves!! It's completely pathetic and makes be annoyed and laugh at the same time because these people will never know what it's like to have pride and be trusted and have responsibilities which they probably think is a good thing...but is sitting around all day being a lazy bum who don't deserve anything and having everything done for them any better????? Do they really think they deserve all the money they're getting ? Why are THEY so entitled to all of our money ?? They haven't earned it, they DON'T deserve it...they DESERVE to be spat on in the street and beaten to within an inch of their lives...it's people like these lazy scummy pathetic idiots that are dragging our society down...I would talk to a rapist before them...

If you ever read these comments YOU LAZY PATHETIC MORONS YOU SHOULD REALLY LISTEN TO EVERYONE'S ADVICE AND STOP STEALING EVERYONE ELSES MONEY...EARN SOME OF YOUR OWN!!

ALSO THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD READ THIS AND GET THEIR BUTTS INTO ACTION TO BECAUSE IT'S THEIR FAULT THAT SOCIETY IS LIKE THIS THESE DAYS!! LETTING EVERYONE GETTING AWAY WITH EVERYTHING...

WHAT'S THE WORLD COMING TO WHEN PEOPLE WHO WORK HAVE TO SLEEP ON PILLOWS ON THE FLOOR AND PEOPLE WHO SCROUNGE HAVE A FOUR POSTER AND LUXURY HOLIDAYS...

WHAT'S IT COMING TO WHEN THE CRIMINAL GETS TREATED BETTER THAN THE VICTIM ?? LIFE SUCKS IN THE U.K. AND THE GOVERNMENT AND SCROUNGERS NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT....US WORKING PEOPLE ARE ALREADY DOING ALL THE GRAFT...IT'S YOUR TURN...MORONS!!!!

Even though they are all laughing at US now, it wont be long until it's over and then hopefully they have to fund for themselves. Us people who have jobs and are paying tax are going to these people! Once it's over and they have to start making there own way to fund for themselves then WE will be laughing at us.

If they can breed chickens and plant vegetables as well, as shop, cook and look after their kids then they can work as well. There is no reason why they shouldn't be working. The governement should cut off their benefits straightaway.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

I've just been on my xmas shop with my hard earned money! not quite £3000, but more £300 yet i still feel guilty for spending it since i take home £800 after tax a month. and brought myself a nintendo ds because i treated myself and WORKED FOR IT!

This time next christmas, I will be a first time mum back from maternity leave. me and my bf intend to work full time. im only 23 and yeah im scared but i want to get what i want by earning. people like the cromptons anger me as i sit at my desk at work, working in a call centre, awaiting my next call. Just been asked to work an extra 26 hours next month as were busy after xmas. Work takes over my life and get little reward for it.

GET GORDON BROWN OUT!

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This is pathetic. It's people like this family that make me think they should reintroduce hunting and let us hunt people commiting benefit fraud! How dare they sell a story like this and rub their 'wealth' in our faces, the people who are paying their benefits by working every hour God sends just to make ends meet!! Angina and IBS? Don't make me laugh! My partner has IBS and he works full time, my Nan has Angina and she worked right up until she was 70!!! This is yet another case of people screwing the system, something the government is allowing while honest hard working people, who have been careful with their money, can't afford to eat or pay the bills. It makes me absolutely livid that the scum of Britains society get to sit at home and lap up the tax payers money just to feed their HUGE family, of which all children were only conceived so they could have MORE benefits and a bigger house! These people need to be dealt with by the government!! It's an absolute disgrace, words alone cannot express how angry this makes me.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This is disgusting.

I study for 30 hours a week, I work 25 hours a week, I have a daughter and a house to take care of. There simply is NO excuse for living off benefits. Help is there if you seek it. My mother suffers from depression and so she could easily sit on her backside and claim a ridiculous amount of money from the state....instead she got a law degree and is now happier than shes ever been. Those who have bad backs can sit in call centres or on a checkout, not all jobs involve manual work and the disability discrimination act dictates that employers have to give reasonable scope to those who have special requirements.

I really cannot stand people that continue to breed and then expect others to pay for it. Everyone is entitled to have children, but that many when you have no self made income? Also this woman doesn't even keep her house in good order! I've never been for the stepford stereotype but if you're going to be at home all day you might as well make it a nice environment for your family.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

Littletinks:

I certainly am not jealous of the money these people get. I am a year younger than you, one daughter and about to get a degree. Me and my partner both work, we collectively bring in around £40,000 in to our household annually and do you know what comes with it? DIGNITY and SELF RESPECT. My daughter has been in nursery two days a week since she was 10 months old, through that she is far more advanced and socially apt than most children her age. So why don't you stop using your children as a crutch and go do something with your life, otherwise they will grow up to be in your financial and social situation which no decent mother would want for their children.

Oh and sorry to be snide, but how will they learn anything from you. You can't spell, your partner is in prison and you have various fathers to your children. Girls like you aren't the by-product of intelligent or socially acceptable environments and I doubt you can produce such environments for your kids. I pity them I really do.

I can spend the rest of my life thanking god that if I needed to I could work full time, educated my child from home, provide for my family....and its all because I educated myself and took the time to do something other than sit on benefits.

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

You want to try living in the real world and working for a living love!

This is why the country is in the state its in now, people like this family.
I understand some people have health issues and cant work but dont keep having kids you cant pay for!!!!!! It makes me so mad that the rest of us have to work to provide for scum like this.
And then to add salt to the enjuiry they complain that the benefits arent enough!what the!!!! alot of people dont earn that sort of money in a years work. If you want more money get of your backsides and earn it like the rest of us!

The goverment also need to seriously look at cases like this and they wonder where they went wrong? Why should some people have to work so hard for their homes just to be worried to death they may loose them, when other people get a home and everything paid for just because theyve had a couple of kids. Is it me or has the world gone mad????

RE: 'The credit crunch is great for us!'

This family should be ashamed of themselves. Why on earth do they think they have the right to do this! At times like this, during the credit crunch genuine, hard-working families are struggling and these are being given such a ridiculous amount of money!

It's no wonder people shout 'scrounger' at them, there worse than that!!!

Funny how he is unable to work due to health problems but he can go out in the garden and grow vegetables! Also she is unable to work because she has 10 kids to look after. She should of thought of that before having the first child! She has such a nerve complaining about the amount of benefits she gets!

God forbid her course is more than two days - of course shes not stupid she doesn't want her benefits stopping!

Where on earth do they think all this money comes from? - TAXPAYERS.

There just the benefit scum family from hell!!!

yes what this family gets is bad and gives other people on benefits a bad name not everyone on benefits want to be there like me and my family ,my partner lost his job in august 2009 and has made every effort possible to get another job with no success i have also tried aswell i have 3children and the money we recieve in benefits isnt enough to pay our bills let alone get anything for my childrens xmas we have also lost our home and are on a waiting list on the homeless. i cant understand how this family live in luxury while my family and i struggle to make ends meet its unfair i cant afford to get any dept for my childrens christmas as it would cripple us paying it back until one of us is successfull in getting a job
