Mum: 'I teach my 7-year-old to pole dance'

Tuesday 15 June 2010

A mum who owns a sex club is teaching her seven-year-old daughter how to pole dance, insisting that it is the same as playing on a climbing frame.

Sarah Burge, who injected Botox into her teen daughter, says pole dancing is keeping her younger daughter “healthy and happy” while most other kids are “sitting in front of the TV all day getting fat”.

The Sun quotes Sarah, 50, as saying: “It’s a great bonding experience for us to play on the pole together. People think of the pole as a sexual object, but does this mean kids are not allowed to slide down a pole on a climbing frame?”

She added: “If in the future she wants to be a real pole dancer, who am I to stop her?”

And Sarah said that she the pole dancing lessons are training Poppy for when she inherits her mum’s swingers’ club, Madame Pink, “so she knows what to look for in dancers and will be a successful boss of the club”.

Sarah, who has had £500, 000 plastic surgery herself, and is infamous for having given Botox to her 15-year-old, revealed that little Poppy wants a boob job when she is old enough, adding: “What my daughters want, they get.”

She continued to say that Poppy, “also wears high heels and makeup, it makes her feel pretty”.

Kidscape director Claude Knights described Sarah’s decision to teach Poppy how to pole dance as “worrying”.

But Poppy’s dad Tony, 50, who took photos of his daughter pole dancing with her mum, said: “They make a great team. There is nothing wrong with using the pole for fitness.”

The lady in the picture is neither Sarah or Poppy.

Do you think pole dancing is just a form of exercise?

Pole dancing does keep a person extremely fit, and I'm all for teaching fitness to kids rather than using a computer or computer game as a babysitter - however, the situation that this pole dancing is surrounded in (sex club and plastic surgery on kids) doesn't sit well with me.

totally agree with the above comment
there is nothing wrong with using pole dancing to get fit at any age there are narrow-minded people that only see it is a sexual use but its how you look at however in this instance the venue is not acceptable for a 15 year old and by her encouraging her daughter to use botox treatments when her young skin is healthy and supple will only age the process of her skin as opposed to keeping it young as any such chemical injectd into the skin cant be a good thing

KIds sliding down a climbing frame and a 7 year old girl dancing around a pole while being photographed by daddy are two totally different things.

@lily-grace couldn't agree more, this story has made me very sad, parents should do all they can to protect young children from sexual predators not turn them into easy pray! Why doesn't this mother want to preserve her Childs innocence and childhood, I want my children to be children for as long as possible, we are adults for such a long time, childhood is precious. As for the cosmetic side, sickening. I don't believe children should look like grown ups and giving a 15 year old child Botox is child abuse. I could rant about this one for a very long time, but I won't.

RE: Mum: 'I teach my 7-year-old to pole dance'

people need to chill out, so shes using it for fitness, so do alot of people and shes right does that mean that kids should be stopped sliding down the pole in the play park? no. yeah its in a club but honestly, her mum owns that club, shes going to own it one day, should a shop owner not take there child into the shop because theres dirty mags on the top shelf or alcohol and ciggs behind the counter? ... btw no i dont agree with her giving her teen botox but to the issue of the pole dancing its a bit of harmless fun, its not like shes doing it infront of punters is it???? and in regards to her dad taking pictures, its disgusting what people are saying about him, thats his daughter! most parents have various pictures of there children with/without clothes, doesnt mean that they are pedos does it?!!! no! it doesnt!!

RE: Mum: 'I teach my 7-year-old to pole dance'

I think it's OK if she only does it to keep fit and have fun, but I think that there is a line between fun and sexual, and that one shouldn't be crossed by a seven year old.
