RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
I think your all being really mean!
This woman is really attractive and having experienced banking environments myself, a lot of the men cannot control themselves unfortunately. If shes been sacked for wearing the wrong clothes then surely she deserves some kind of compensation. You cannot say that you wouldnt want the same if you were in the same situation.
Im sure if it was a woman on here being told that she was too fat there would be outrage amongst you all. You discriminating against this woman is unfair and you shouldnt make assumptions so quickly.

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
I can't believe how bitchy and unsupportive you lot are, this is a woman who lost her job because she has womanly figure and doesn't hide it. What is she supposed to do, wear a sack to work?
And I agree with candi.London, in my experience bankers and/or city boys can often be sexist and highly disrespectful of women, they often see them as a piece of meat and women working in the financial sector have to endure all kinds of bullying from their male colleagues just to prove they can 'hack it'.
Debralee is an attractive woman and a 'Kelly Brook type' - you could out her in the frumpiest of outfits and she'd still look curvy and womanly. Wonder how you felt if this happened to you... I hope she bloody wins in court, just to prove a point!

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
yes she is gorgeous but im sorry i just dont buy this story! im sure its over-exaggerated. even if she went in a low cut top or whatever im sure the men would not be distrected from their work for more than a minute or so! lets not forget she is suing for discrimination about being fired, not for comments or sexual harrassment on the part of the men in her office! she may have just been bad at her job and is using this as an excuse.

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
You can't just sack someone for wearing the wrong bloody clothes! There has to be more to her being fired than this.
A company like Citibank would have followed the stringent
rules concerning this to the letter surely? If she was wearing
unsuitable clothing she would have been have several verbal and written warnings before being dismissed. If she
didn't adhere to these then that was up to her. If everything
she has said is true with no exaggeration then good luck to
her, but I just can't see a company like this setting themself
up for so much trouble over something as trivial as clothes.

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
exactly these big firms are wise to discrimination cases nowdays as it seems anyone can try it! they would deffo have had to have had other reason to fire her or it just wouldn't have happened! the thing about the heels aswell most ppl are banned from wearing heels to work its inapropriate and if someone fel over in them its another law suit!!!

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
To the person above to whom this message is aimed at, do you know how many women wear heels to work! What is wrong with wearing heels if it make you feel good about yourself? Im not talking about 8inch high stilettos but there is absoloutely nothing wrong with looking nice! Ive worked in a lot of places, some corporate finance, law firms etc and heels have never been called 'inappropriate!'

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
ok in the story it says she was banned from wearing "high heels" i think it is inapropriate to wear high heels to work as they are predominatly worn when going out for precisey your reasons, when you go to work you should be comfortable and high heels are not comfortable to be walking round an office etc in! also my other point was that if someone fel over in them in a corportae environment, the company coul be held responsible and they wouldn't want another law suit! i think it depends on your perception of high heels coz what are high to one person might not be high to another!

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
I wear high hells for work, always have, but I think the point
sugar sweet was trying to make is there has been such an
influx of law suits in the last couple of years, companies
worry about being sued for anything. Of course its rediculous, and health and safety laws can been seen as
over the top, but I bet a lot of it stems from people suing
companies over the smallest things to make as much money as possible.

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
yes that was the point i was trying to make thanks n.s. taking the shoes out of the scenario i still think she has over-exaggerated and of course the article is biased and doesn't suggest any other reason why she might have been fired!

RE: 'I was fired for being too sexy'
yes she is an very attractive women and working in a predominant working environment with lust-minded men must have been diificult for her- im sure she played her beauty and sexy figure to her advantage
but if the bosses had told her to tone down the way she dressed because of her effect on the guys then the boss was in the wrong- and she IS WITHIN HER RIGHTS as an employer to take things further..
only if she had complained and it was not taken seriously do i think she is right in sueing them for their insensitive behaviour towards her
