Dog left dying in boys arms in hit and run
Thursday 14 October 2010
A heartless act of cruelty has left a 12-year-old boy traumatised, after a driver mowed down his pet dog, before checking his car for damage, ignoring the boy’s pleas for help and then cruelly speeding off!
Here at Closer, we’re seriously struggling to understand how someone can be so callous, as Josh King was left holding the battered body of his Cocker Spaniel, Ozzie, on the roadside, as his pet died in his arms.
Josh had been walking his dogs, Ozzie and Sasha, in the fields near his home in Malvern, Worcestershire, on Sunday evening and was about to put Ozzie on the lead, before it spotted something and darted into the road, where he was hit by the dark-green car.
The driver, suspected to be in his 40’s, got out from his car and ignored Josh’s pleas for help as he clutched his dog. He then checked his car and drove straight off. The youngster was left with his pet’s dying body, as he shouted for the driver to help.
We all feel so sorry for Josh and Ozzie here in the office, after his mother, Sandy King told the Daily Express: “Josh said the sound the impact made was like a gun shot and could be heard a few streets away.
“Ozzie collapsed in Josh’s arms and started shaking. That’s when he looked up at the driver and shouted ‘help me, please, help me’ and waved him towards him.
“But the driver just looked at him and got back in the car and drove off. He said nothing. Josh was in floods of tears and Ozzie died in his arms.”
The family have set up a Facebook campaign to find the killer and get some justice for Ozzie and traumatised Josh, who had to watch his dog die in his arms. The Facebook page is titled ‘Find the Man That Ran down and Killed Our Ozzie’ and already has 600 members.

Heartless b********d! Hope he can sleep at night. You can put some things down to panicking, but to calmly look a the boy and then check his car, this is obviously not the case.
Why would he not help? it wasn't his fault, the dog ran out in front of him, so there's no way he would have been in trouble, he just really didn't care. Vile.
Poor little Ozzie, and poor Josh, my heart really does go out to you. xxxxxx
