Kayley and Eddie Eddie and Iris

'I'm marrying my 'dad''

Tuesday 20 July 2010

When Kayley Woodhouse started a seedy affair with married trucker Eddie Robertson, he hatched a bizarre plan to hide it from his wife Iris.

Unbelievably, the 54 year old told her that Kayley, then 17, was his long-lost daughter. However, Iris eventually saw through their lies and threw Eddie out. Now, four years on, the fake father and daughter are planning to marry.

Kayley, now 22, says: “Pretending to be Eddie’s daughter was wrong, but we’d have done anything to be together.”
Kayley met Eddie in May 2005, when she found his frequency over CB radio while living in Weston-Super-Mare.

Kayley, who lost her dad to cancer, recalls: “Me and my sister Adele were looking for people to talk to and found Eddie. He had a lovely warm voice and I gave him my mobile number so we could talk more.

He told me about his wife and his daughter, Corrina, who is a year younger than me, and I told him about my boyfriend, Aaron, 18, who I’d been with for two years.

“Eddie became like my counseller. After a few weeks I told him I loved him even though we’d never met, and he said he felt the same. I wanted him to look after me.”

Two months later the couple sneaked off to Devon and slept together for the first time. “It was really nice,” says Kayley. “The age gap didn’t bother me at all.

“Afterwards Eddie suggested taking me back to his house in Aberdeen and pretending that I was his daughter. I thought it was weird but I wanted to be with him. I felt bad about my boyfriend but you can’t help who you fall for.”

When Eddie introduced his “daughter” to his family, he said that Kayley’s mum had contacted him out of the blue to break the news that he had a love child after he’d had a fling when he and Iris were engaged. Although initially furious, Iris forgave him.

“Iris cooked me dinner and put up a bed for me in Corrina’s room,” says Kayley. “When she gave me a hug I felt guilty.”

Over the next five months, Kayley visited Eddie and Iris’ home three times. She shamelessly admits: “One night we all went out and I pretended I was drunk so Eddie took me home, then we had sex in their bed.”

At other times they’d have sex in the back of Eddie’s truck. But in October 2005, he accidentally revealed their ruse.
Eddie was at a party when he saw another man talking to Kayley. He says: “I saw red and told him to get his hands off my woman.”

Livid, Iris kicked Eddie out of home and he moved into a caravan with Kayley.

She says: “I called my boyfriend straight away to tell him. I felt bad and he was crying. My sister was furious and tried to stop me, but I was too in love. I felt sorry for Iris too, but I knew she’d be OK.”

The couple now rent a three-bed flat and Eddie, who divorced Iris two years ago, plans to propose on holiday in Dubai next year.

And although Eddie’s had two heart attacks, Kayley insists she doesn’t worry about the future: “When he gets old I’ll look after him, because I love him. We won’t have children, so we’ll only have each other.

She adds: “People mistake him for my dad but we don’t care what other people think. Luckily, my family have come round and even Iris and Corrina have forgiven us.”

Eddie, who speaks to Corrina every week, says: “We’ve both suffered from hurting the people we love but it’s been worth it.”

Kayley adds: “I realise when I first got together with Eddie I was looking for a father figure but now it’s very different. He may not be young and good-looking but he gives me security.”

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

I'm not sure these people really exist. I'm pretty convinced that a team at Closer photoshop two random people and make up the most ridiculous story that they can - very entertaining!

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

I just dont understand how they can be proud enough to have it published! its just wrong. Like Foxy_filly i went to school with Kayley and im just in total shock. I know they say you can't help who you fall in love but to ruin a marriage and break up a family is just wrong!

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

Hi i am Kay's sister and think you are all being unfair. She was actually 18 when they met and were two consenting adults. Why is it so disgusting ,when Catherine-Zeta-Jones and Micheal Douglas got together with a similar age gap to Ed and Kayley they weren't told they were disgusting! She was with a young boyfriend who used to beat her and left him. Ed is her Knight in shining armour and treats her like a lady. Ed is a nice person and treats her well so they both have my blessing. Don't judge a book by the cover as the saying goes! Have you lot not got anything better to do than sponge off the dole, sitting on your backsides typing about other people instead of looking at yourselves in the mirror!

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

Lol, how can Kayley and her sister sit and moan people have passed comment... if you publish something like this there is going to be criticism.
Personally i think each to their own. If you wanna shack up with an old dude thats your choice. Life's a b***h, then you marry one, well in this case, Life's a b***h, then you marry someone with saggy b***s ....

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

when you are sad enough to sell your story the expect to get commets back on it. are you really that stupid you thought people would think its nice what you have done?

Posted by brilady1

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

Kay does not think it's nice what she has done and at the end of the day if Ed was happy with iris Ed wouldn't have had a affair! It's not about being sad Closer have misinterpretted the story. You're the saddo's commenting with nothing better to do in your lives than critisize other peoples. the saddos are you commenting on stories at 2am in the morning!

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

GOOOONS lol. I agree with Smiler09's comment. Let them live their life. If you want an old fella your choice. But dont winge when you get critizied for publishing it. People have moral's and standard's. I once fell in love with frog... nothing happned tho.

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

right, lets look at this properly yea ?
kayley has put her story on closer. how it's been "interpreted" makes no difference to the fact that an 18 year old girl thought it was ok to go into a 54year old MARRIED mans house with his consent, pretend to be his daughter and have sex behind his wife's back. im sorry but how DARE she break up a marriage. if he wasn't happy in his marriage he should of ended it, he's humiliated Iris and yea she might be ok now but i bet she felt like crap when she found out. and as for Corrina i can't imagine any daughter being ok with their dad shacking up with someone the same age as her! get a grip the pair of you.

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

I'm sorry to be brash brilady1, that is so rude of you to say that everyone who reads these articles is a sponger. I work 40 hours a week to provide for my daughter and my husband. I read these articles because somethings i cannot honestly believe the positions people get themselves into. Its shocking. Do not always judge others. Everyone is entitled to their own lives and the decisions they make, and others are also entitled to their own opinions. It's called freedom of speech. Not everyone is going to agree with story and i can see why but then again people are intitled to their happiness. (as odd as it may seem!)

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

I agree, I work 40 hours a week to support me and my partner while he is in college getting a career for himself. It doesnt matter what age they are, at the end of the day age is just a number and they are both adults. The bad thing about this story is that a girl, who had only just come into adult hood, thought it was ok to fool that poor woman and her daughter and break up a family. She is a sad little girl and I cant wait till Ed cheats on her and the same thing happens to her as did to Iris and Corrina. All the best for the future Iris and Corrina, dont worry about the a***holes that ruined your lives, they actually did you a favour!!

RE: 'I'm marrying my 'dad''

Just a thought... why do these people always say that their stories were misinterpreted by Closer? In the story about the dopehead 'mother' her sister said the same thing ('til the comment was removed!) - all seems a bit of a coincidence to me ???
