Beef-craving mum has super-beefy baby

A mother who craved beef during her pregnancy has given birth to a beefy baby, who popped out weighing 13lbs 15oz!

Sharon Needham's Caesarean baby, Harry,  required three medical staff members to lift him out.

Sharon recalls their shock at seeing the size of her newborn: "One of them joked, 'Have you got a school unifrom ready?' and another said, 'that's not an umbilical cord, it's a fireman's hose'."

And she has linked baby Harry's beefiness with her beef cravings while pregnant, with The Sun quoting her as saying: "I don't normally eat beef much but I just wanted roast beef, steak and chips, steak pies, anything with beef in. When I saw Harry I half expected him to ask for steak and chips."

Ms Needham and her partner Paul are both tall at 5'8 and 6'2 respectively, so they were expecting a "biggish baby - just not one this big".

She had been unable to walk during the last week of her pregnancy which hadn't occurred when she was preggers with her other kids.

Little, or should we say, big Harry wears babygrows for three to five month-olds.

The biggest newborn recorded  is an Italian boy weighing 22lb 8oz, but Harry is close behind the heaviest British newborn who weighed an impressive 15lb 8oz.
