The luckiest baby born at 10:10:10 on 10/10/10

Monday 11 October 2010

Yesterday was supposed to be such a lucky date that an estimated 31,050 couples are thought to have exchanged wedding vows across the UK and some even arranged Caesarean sections, so their babies could be born on that day. Some people will go to any lengths, eh?

But one little baby named Niamh Bond came into the world all by herself with no help, and just for good measure, at ten seconds after ten past ten. Could she be the luckiest baby ever??

Niamh was born at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, weighing only 3lb 7oz after being delivered naturally at eight weeks premature. New mum Keelie Hearne can’t believe her gorgeous daughter was born on such a special day, she said: “When I looked at the clock I was gob smacked. It is certainly a date to remember!.”And, not just because it was her first baby!

The 20-year-old, who is a pub waitress, suddenly went into labour during a shift on Saturday evening. She was admitted into hospital and by 9.40am yesterday was in advanced labour, poor girl!!

Dawn Grix, delivery suite co-ordinator at Good Hope Hospital, said: “ Keelie came down fully dilated and was pushing and we suddenly realised what the time was.”

Numerologists believe the perfect tens, which only occur once a century, symbolise a ‘powerful moment of rebirth’ - watch out she could be taking over the world before we know it!

Her partner Dean Bond, 22, who dashed to the hospital with only ten minutes to spare, is delighted with their special new arrival, he said: “It’s amazing and hopefully being born on what is supposed to be the luckiest day of the century will prove a lucky omen for us and Niamh.” Everybody altogether now - awwww!!

Both baby and mother are said to be doing well as they recover at Good Hope Hospital. Niamh will now be kept in the special care baby unit until November.

We at Closer Online hope baby Niamh makes a speedy recovery!!

That's sweet about the baby and I also hope she makes a quick recovery but I don't buy into this "lucky date" stuff. It's just another day, same as all the others and I don't think it has any special meaning to it.
