RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
I think PJ's in any public place is an offence, "get dressed before you leave the house, and please remember to take your rollers out to"!

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
tesco should think themselves lucky that they still have customers as all they do is rip people off now theyre moaning about petty things like people wearing pj's so what if they do as long as they dont shop in their undies it shouldnt matter, get a grip tesco !

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
Its a real shame that some people have such gutter level chav livestyles that Tesco have to actually request they do normal things, like getting dressed.......
I can just see all the manky staffordshire bull terriers tied up outside while their greasy haired benefit scrounging pyjama wearing owners are in their buying discount beans and fags and dog food......
Get a job, get some pride in yourself and do the rest of us normal hard working people a favour.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
Ha! you think just because someone wears pyjama's they are a chav on benefits. I think you have a bit of a sheletered life love, especially if you get so bothered by something so pointless. its not like people are going in there naked!

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
isnt it just as easy to pull on a pair of jeans and a top as it is to put on pj's? They're not outdoor wear for Gods sake

Re: cassi.b
I think anyone that is in their pyjamas all day doesn't have to go to work, so I would guess, yes...they are lazy and live on benefits. If they weren't lazy they'd have got up half an hour earlier and had a shower and got dressed. Lazy + benefit scroungers generally = chavs
Having a job means I probably get out of the house more than that someone sitting at home watching loose women in their pyjamas all day.
Oh and learn how to spell.... Its sheltered.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
more than 2 brains cells i think you're so rude can't you get your point across without being so offensive! you're basically implying that anyone on benefits is a scrounger with greasy hair who just sits indoors and watches loose women all day! there are some people who are desperate to get off benefits who might be reading this and feel really offended and i wouldn't blame them!
the article was about more than just the whole pj thing anyway you haven't commented on the other points such as the schoolkids wearing blazers or the dad carrying his kid on his shoulders i think you just wanted an exuse to vent some frustration.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
also just because you don't work doesn't mean you're lazy and just because you wear pj's doesn't mean it either i love putting my pj's on after a hard days work, yes thats right i work and put my pj's on before i actually go to bed omg maybe i should stop being so lazy!

RE:Morethan2braincells
Well I have a full time job and I have a second part time job and I still would go to Tesco's in my pyjama's.Oh and I'm sorry my incorrect spelling on a magazine website has offended you, that is obviously another pointless thing you get bothered about.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
I actually work in an extra store in newcastle I think the rules are a good idea to be honest.. for one wearing pj's is so unhygenic and also tracksuits look a mess,, places have standards. Also the little girl on her dads shoulders is a safety issue,, its the same as mothers letting their children sit in the trollys. one it damages the trollys and its a safety issue, If people dont like it simple dont shop there.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
OK - I thought I would clarify my thinking in my comment as it seems to have caused a stir. No, of course not all people on benefits are lazy. We are in a recession and lots of good hard working people are looking for a job at the moment.
The particular case of the woman in her pyjamas, was on a weekday, we know this because he children were going to school, and we summarise that she didn't have a job because she would have been dressed to go afterwards or mentioned it in her interview. And the picture.....you can tell she looked like a...er, chav. (sorry but she does!!)
She IS lazy, I'm sorry but she is, the fact she can't be bothered to get up 20 minutes earlier to wash her face and put on some jeans IS lazy (and a terrible example of her children!!)
But to anyone on benefits that washes and dresses every morning and is out looking for work, I am sorry, you are not lazy and I wasn't referring to you.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
The woman in question does, quite clearly look a little scruffy. but, as she said she popped in briefly, probably after dropping her kids at school. anyone with children must realise mornings can be a huge rush and if she only intended to drive her car in her pjs I cant blame her! having a quick stop at tesco to grab something....she wasn't doing her entire shop in her pjs. However, it is irritating as in all honesty on a Sunday morning after an evening out my friends and I would often go to tesco in our pj bottoms to get essential hangover supplies and this was a little bit of fun that harmed no-one! now we are being called lazy, jobless, scruffy chavs..for what reason? ignorance.
ps: i have a job and i'm doing a degree.

Get a grip!!!
Kittina I am the same as you, i work full time, start uni in september while i am still working full time, i have a great job and am not short of cash to say the least. On a sunday when me and my mates have hangovers we jump down in comfy clothes if thats in our joggy's or jammie who cares we are still spending money in their shop and they should be grateful!! In fact from now on i will be shopping in Asda.
Another thing there are people who go into supermarkets in the summer. weekend nights that are wearing a lot less than those of us in our PJ's so what the problem.

Another think more than two brain cells!!
It is people like you that make me feel para about being off work during the week even though I am entilted to all my bank holiday plus 26 days a year!! Just because people do their message's though the week doesnt mean they dont have a job and even if they dont what right do you have to speak down about people the way you do, Who are you?? the Queen???? Jezso!

Blimey, anyone would think Ive just said I kill kittens in my spare time!
Look, If you don't want people to think your a slob, dress..... if you don't care what other people think, don't dress...........its a free country. But Tesco have to come down on the side thats the most hygenic because they are a food shop and the majority of people find it quite skanky.....all those of you that came back screaming you are doing degrees you must be intelligent enough to see that! I cannot argue the case any more eloquently than that on an on-line post!!!!!

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
i think you're completely prejudiced against people who wear pyjamas. i am not a "chav", i don't live in a council house, i am not violent, i have a job, as well as gaining more qualifications at the moment, and i love going out in my pyjamas. after a hard week, sometimes it's nice to spend a saturday in your pjs. and if you need milk, whats the harm in running to tesco quick to grab some without having to get dressed? just because you spend a single day in your pjs and quickly nip to the shop like it doesnt mean you are a "chav" living off benefits. i think you need to sort your heads out, and stop being bitchy, and tesco need to sort out their policies. they'll be banning handbags next and we'll have to carry our money in our hands!!

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
TO be honest i think the lot of you are being ridiculous! if all you have to do is sit on this all day and argue, then to me thats just Rather sad! A shop has changed its policy because of the state of some people when they shop. Thats not to say that they are all chavs. far from it. BUT other people do find it offensive I.E. the older generation, when we walk into a shop in our PJS. i do it myself and get alot of funny looks from the elders. however that is not to say i am a chav because i walk around in my PJS im a hard worker & sometimes i just cant be arsed getting dressed because i dont want to!!! it is harmless to walk into tesco for a quick pick up, well it used to b. but now they have banned this and it SHOULD not be an issue to discuss! its like schools they have RULES & REGULATIONS!! theyre easy to follow. arguing about it wont make it go away. as for the child on the shoulders it is a safety issue hense the reason they have CHILD SEATS in the trolleys!!! & to be quite frank school children are not all thieves, i would say a number of adults are just as much to blame as a child. so its kind of RUDE to assume that all children are thieves!.
more to the point. its not worth arguing over!! you wouldnt sit in macdonalds in your PJS would you?.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
i have 4 children and i admit i do not work but i also do not have the luxury of a car which surely saves these women time on a school run, enough time to pull jeans and a top on? and by the way i am not a chav or a benefit scrounger. does anyone really care though? shop elsewhere and stop whining.

RE: Has Tesco gone store policy mental?
To Loopy Lozzy, pjs are unhygienic, okaaaayyyyyy. Don't see how if you wash them as often as you wash your day to day clothes ..... but to say that trackies just look at mess and stores have standards? Okay so what about when girls walk around Tescos half naked. They may have the bodies for it (and maybe that's why security/Tescos doesn't have a problem with it) but who says that people feel any more comfortable with having to look at someones butt or boobs sticking out of their clothes than looking at someone in pjs. I say if you are going to start making an issue of what people wear when they are spending their hard earned money (and making Tescos profits rise) then we need to reassess just how much or how little you can wear when you walk into the store. I don't feel the need to shop in my pjs but I say respect what people want to wear. There are a lot of hard workers that just want be comfortable walking around doing their shop and jeans might not be their idea of comfortable.

I can't see whats wrong with trackies in a supermarket. Its only a shop not a 5 star hotel.I can understand the jammies it don't take much to pull some jeans on.

I do not think some of Tescos policies are crazy.I do agree with thier ban on pejamas they are meant for sleeping in not to go out in.Is it so hard for people to dress tidily?
