Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Civil-Fielder is on life support following an alcohol binge
Blake Civil Fielder is reportedly in a life threatening condition following a night out. Blake, 30, was found by his partner Sarah Aspin choking in bed on Friday morning. She reported that he had come home late apparently ‘slurring his words’ last Thursday night. The following morning she awoke at 6am to find Blake choking on his vomit.
Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, has taken to twitter to express his concern, tweeting “Remember Amy loved him. Let’s pray for his recovery”.
Blake and Amy had a turbulent relationship
Describing her horror, Sarah told a British paper ‘I went to get up and heard a horrid scratching and grating breathing sound. I looked round and saw Blake lying there completely grey. His eyes were rolled back and his mouth was locked together.’
The paramedics arrived quickly and found Blake had choked on his tongue and vomit, and had a collapsed lung. Following his multiple organ failure, doctors have said that they cannot rule out possible brain damage if Blake survives.
Girlfriend Sarah is at Blake's bedside
Sarah is the mother of his 15-month-old son Jack and told sources that they were considering marriage. Blake has only been released on probation for two weeks, following his 14-month prison sentence for possession of stolen goods and possession of an imitation firearm.
Blake has long battled a heroin addiction, and this latest shock comes not long after the first anniversary of his ex-wife Winehouse’s death from accidental alcohol poisoning.
Amy and Blake, a former video producer, married in Miami in 2007 and had a turbulent and sometimes violent drug-fuelled two-year marriage. Blake was widely blamed for Amy’s demise, following his 2008 revelations during a controversial interview which revealed that he had introduced Amy to heroin and crack cocaine. Despite this, Amy’s father Blake has said he does not blame Blake for Amy’s death last year.
Blake is currently still fighting for his life in an induced coma in a Dewsbury hospital with Sarah and baby Jack by his side.
