Ashley: 'Don't let work come between us again'

Cheryl Cole continued to throw herself beck into the spotlight last week with a trip to Afghanistan to support British troops serving there.
All smiles, the star, 28, donned army fatigues and posed for a series of photo opportunities, serving drinks on the 12-hour flight to camp Bastion and even taking part in a mock gunfight.
But her career comeback plan has led to rows with on/off love Ashley Cole, 30, who's apparently unhappy that she's looking at big TV projects again, fearing it'll cut into quality time as a couple.
Amid rumours of a return to The X Factor as a 'special' judge, Simon cowell also hinted Cheryl's even now in the running for a judging slot in the next series of Britain's Got Talent - a role she originally turned down in 2007.
"They had a blazing row when Cheryl was telling Ashley about all her career options," says and insider.
"As well as the TV offers, Cheryl's also talking about a Girls Aloud reunion tour, which is bound to be massive."
And despite Ashley's cheating scandal - when he was linked to four women - leading to the couple's divorce last year, sources say he still blames her for the breakdown of their marriage.
A source says: “Ashley was really taken aback, he says it was work that drove their marriage apart in the first place – that she was so busy with work that she seemed to have no time for him. Her reaction was: ‘Stop trying to control me.’”
But contrary to reports of another split, pals say the couple – who reunited this year despite Ashley being linked to several other women since May – are still together but on increasingly ‘shaky ground.’
A source says: “Cheryl still wants a baby in 2012 and has told her management not to book anything after May, but lately she’s felt it’s time to get her career back after the US X Factor sacking debacle.
“While Cheryl definitely doesn’t want to return to a situation where work takes over at the expense of her personal life, Ashley worries any project with Simon Cowell will have her working 24/7.
“The last few months have changed her perspective, she just hasn’t quite figured out how to get the work/life balance yet. Tjings seem to change from day to day with Cheryl, and Ashley is finding it difficult.
“He just wants a commitment from her, but she just doesn’t seem to know what she wants – and Ashley is now feeling like that includes him too.”
