Becks to mend it not bend it

Tuesday 16 March 2010

Instead of bending a ball, David Beckham is going to have to focus on mending a leg as it looks like he will miss this summer’s World Cup.

The gorgeous-man-come-footballer yesterday underwent surgery in Finland for a torn Achilles’ tendon following an injury sustained whilst playing footie.

Dr. Orava, who operated on Becks, estimated that it would be four months until David is able to run and six months before he can play football again.

According to The Sun, pals say David is inconsolable with one friend saying: "David has been crying and is in deep shock. Football is his life and he feels like it has been unfairly taken away from him. He's just so low.

"The only reason he carried on playing so hard in Europe and was away from his family for so long was to get to his last World Cup. He thinks it's all been for nothing."

PR man Max Clifford commented on Sexy Becksy’s injury: "While it's a horrible setback for the man — everybody knows how much he would have loved to be at the World Cup - his future is as bright as it's ever been because of the kind of following he's built up in the last decade.”

Victoria Beckham was due to fly out to Finland to see her upset hubby yesterday.

We’ll miss you on the pitch at the World Cup Becksy.

Do you think watching the World Cup will be a different experience without Becks?
