Cher Lloyd wants out of Simons grip!
Thursday 20 January 2011
No we all know that Cher Lloyd was a tiny bit of a diva on the talent show, but it looks as though this time she is going maybe a step too far as she tries to rid the man that made her famous in the first place.
That's right, Cher is trying to step away from Simon Cowell's tight grip as she wants to go for a more 'urban' feel.
What may seem like a case of biting that hand that feeds you, Cher is privately letting it be known that, only weeks into her career, she is already feeling ‘stifled’.
The Mail Online reported that 'there is talk that Cher is bored with the ‘bubblegum’ pop songs Cowell wants her to record, and is complaining she won’t stand for fourth billing behind X Factor winner Matt Cardle and runners-up Rebecca Ferguson and boyband One Direction.'
She is demanding, say insiders within Cowell’s organisation, to be allowed to record more ‘urban’ songs.
‘You’d think Cher would just be happy for the chance, but she’s told Simon she wants to do it her own way,’ a source told me this week. ‘She’s thrown a few heavy-duty tantrums and is, frankly, being a bit of a pain.
‘You have to admire such self-confidence in a young girl, but she’s no respecter of authority and she’s had run-ins with a few people.’
Now, much that you would expect Cher to disappear from our lives post X Factor, things can't be more different as there have even been reports, let slip by ‘friends’ of Miss Lloyd, that she has been snapped up to record for Roc Nation, the record label owned by the world’s biggest rap star, Jay-Z.
Her performances on The X Factor saw her bacome a Youtube sensation across the pond, being picked up by the ears of such music moguls.
Since being in America, Cher has definitely made the most of her time. Posting a photo of herself with rapper, Lil Wayne, the teen is said to be 'beside herself' after being granted an audience with him. Apparently the pair have aggreed to work on songs together during her stay.
However, it doesn't seem that everyone has as much love for Cher Lloyd. British rapper Plan B has confessed that he doesn't yet know if she is as 'edgy' as she thinks. He said:
He said: "I haven't seen enough of Cher Lloyd yet.
"I saw a video on the net where she said she had written her own rap on stage, then did a Professor Green rap.
"So I don't know if that's edgy, that's more plagiarism."
Hmm...
What do you think of Cher Lloyd? One hit wonder or real star?
