Cheryl: 'I only trust my mum and my dogs'

More than 18 months after Cheryl Cole's marriage was rocked by allegations of husband Ashley's infidelity, the couple seem stronger than ever - but the gorgeous singer has revealed that the only person she trusts completely is her mum Joan.

Cheryl, 26, told The Sunday Times: 'I've come to the conclusion that I don't trust anybody in my life except my mother and my dogs.'

The X Factor judge, who usually refuses to discuss her relationship with footballer Ashley, also told Elle magazine in a separate interview that she didn't believe in 'perfect' marriages.

‘I think marriages are something you have to work at,’ she said. ‘Marriages are not rose-petalled paths that you skip down - they were never intended to be.

‘It's not supposed to be easy, it's not supposed to be perfect.’

The statement supports the message of Cheryl's first solo record Fight For This Love, in which she croons:

"Anything that's worth having/ Is sure enough worth fighting for/ Quitting's out of the question/ When it gets tough gotta fight some more"

The beautiful Geordie is currently promoting her first musical venture without the Aloud babes and  was styled in a number of sexy outfits for the Elle shoot.

She also hit back at any critics who have questioned her decision to stay with Ashley after the cheating scandal.

‘I know from a perspective how it looks but it's not like that. And I'm not a stupid girl,’ she said.

‘I'm not one of those girls who can't see things for what they are. I've been out with idiots in the past. Ashley's such a nice guy. I still get the butterflies.’

Awwww... And Mrs Cole also revealed that she is incredibly broody!

‘I can't wait to have children. Even if all this went tomorrow and I just had my family and my kids and my husband and my parents, I'm happy.’

As much as we'd love to see a mini-me of Cheryl, we imagine that with her work load it's still going to be some time until we hear the pitter patter of tiny feet in the Cole household!

Is she serious? He was dicking other girls and she thinks "marriages aren't perfect" Well yours certainly isn't!

She's a mug - as much as I like her, she should have told him where to go. No one should sit around and be treated in that way.

Can you imagine not being able to trust your own husband. If the trust isn't there, you may aswell not bother. Personally, i don't know what the hell she sees in Ashley Cole anyway, he's a smug arrogant slimeball.

I dont think shes a mug at all at the end of the day he may have cheated and just because the whole nation found out about it doesnt give anyone the right to judge him, her or their marriage. She is right marriage/relationships are not perfect but everyone deals with problems their own way and what suits them. Its easy to say leave him/her when your on the outside but sometimes its not that simple and if a person decides to give them another chance doesnt mean they are stupid. Im sure she had her reasons to want to make it work.

Obviously her marriage to Ashley and her love for him means she's willing to forgive once but not twice! I do think they're a weird couple but how many marriages or relationships are made up of opposites anyway hm?! However, I do feel if she's decided to stay with him, to work at their marriage and knows she still loves him perhaps it's time to stop giving interviews about her feelings on Ashley cheating or in the end endless reruns reminding everyone he had an affair is just going to destroy all the hard work!
I don't like Cheryl Cole but if she's decided to make her marriage work good for her! As for only trusting her mum and her dogs well I wouldn't trust either in her position, sorry!! The dogs can bite and if she gets on the wrong side of her mother there's another tell all on celebrity life with yet another ghostwriter lol!! Ghostwriter's jobs are definitely safer this year lol!!
