Cheryl Cole to join US X Factor

Speculation has been mounting for months that Cheryl Cole will join Simon Cowell on the American X Factor, which debuts in the States next year.
But last night a source confirmed that the move was very likely, saying: “I would say it’s a good bet that Cheryl is coming to America. It’s something that Simon and Cheryl have been discussing for months. You know, it’s a very exciting prospect for everyone involved to have Cheryl on board.”
It’s said that the 27 year old star will quit her position as judge on the UK version of the talent show and make the big move to the States in a bid to launch her Hollywood career.
Since offering Cole the judging position two years ago, Cowell has acted as a mentor to the singer, helping her propel her celebrity status to incredible heights and carve out a successful solo career.
The source added that the UK X Factor will not air next year as Simon will be focusing all his energy on the US launch. When the UK show returns the following year, its unlikely Cheryl will reclaim her judging position.
The source continued: “When Cheryl goes to America she will also launch her music career there too. It’s the next part of her big plan, she’s an incredibly hard worker and she will definitely get a boost by appearing on the X Factor, which is set to be a sure-fire hit.
Cheryl has already spent a lot of time stateside, collaborating with US producer Will.i.am and spending time with her close friend Derek Hough.
“Cheryl loves Los Angeles and this is extremely exciting. It is all part of a fresh new start for her.”
It’s also been reported that Simon has lined up Pussycat doll singer Nicole Scherzinger to join him and Cheryl on the US show after she impressed him during her stint on the X Factor auditions.
The feisty singer was originally filling in for Danni but was soon filling Cheryl’s position too, when the Geordie judge was struck with a serious bout of Malaria.
Speaking about the potential new judge, Simon said: “'Nicole was in a very difficult situation in Manchester when everyone knew Cheryl was ill.
‘They can be a tough crowd and a lot of them turned up because they wanted to see Cheryl. But what was amazing was how quickly everyone warmed to Nicole. By the end they absolutely loved her”

She has a conviction for assault! Any other human being would never be able to get a working visa or residency in the US with that on their record!

exactly miss lucy everyone alwasy seems to forget about her little run in witht the law when there calling her the "nations sweetheart" i bet the toilet attendant who she punched doesnt think so! bit of an injustice really aye i bet shes still working there while cheryls career is flying high!

I like her. She is definately in Simon Cowells pocket though,
she's like his little project, and with that kind of backing and money behind her, she'll be huge whether she's got a criminal record or not. Bit unfair that.

Miss Lucy Exactly!! If you or I turned up visa in hand with a conviction for a racist assault, plus had reiterated only last year that we would do it again, we would be on the flight home in a millisecond, no chance, no quibble!! If the US viewing public were made aware she had a conviction for a racist and physical assault on a toilet attendant just doing her job, Cheryls name would be up in lights all right, but not for her looks or for any talent she has!! This is a real no, no with celebs these days especially in the US, they have enough problem with their own racists without letting more in lol!!
I'm sick to death of her being portrayed as the nation's sweetheart when she's not, she had and still has the weakest voice in Girls Aloud, her solo songs were mediocre and sorry she's a thug!! Next Simon Cowell will have her up for sainthood over her marriage to Ashley lol!! While I know Simon's always had success as a producer etc I can't help but wonder if his desire to help Cheryl isn't more due to the fact he has a thing for her lol!!
