Cheryl back to work on the X Factor
Monday 26 July 2010
Cheryl really is a little trooper.
After weeks of battling malaria, the brave Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge has beaten the potentially fatal disease and is set to return to work.
Chezza is due to be filmed at her Surrey home, chatting to Xtra Factor host Konnie Huq.
Meanwhile, the nation's sweetheart refused to see Ashley Cole who wished to offer his support and comfort to his estranged unwell wife.
A source told the News of the World: "The simple fact is Cheryl doesn't want to see Ashley. Given everything she's been through it just wouldn't be a good idea. Obviously it's hard for her and there's a part of her [that] would like to see him. They were married for years after all and she was madly in love."
And Ash is said to be annoyed that Cheryl has allowed Derek Hough to stay with her in the home they shared as a couple. The insider said: "There's no way Cheryl would even entertain the thought of Ashley deciding who she lets stay.
"The end to the marriage was completely his fault. It's not what she wanted. Derek has been so good to her and she's needed him there."
Having missed out on the final auditions and boot camp stage of this year’s X Factor, Cheryl, 27, has spoken to TV bosses about starting her comeback this Friday.
She is set to return full time for the ‘Judges’ Houses’ stage next month, despite having only just finished her stint in hospital.
But the bug hasn’t taken away any of Cheryl’s feistiness.
The Star has reported that she has been texting Simon Cowell, 50, telling him not to keep all the best acts for himself!
A source told the paper: ‘She has put all her energy into getting better and it’s paid off.
‘Simon has told her he can’t wait to have her back.’
