Cheryl: 'I feel betrayed'

Cheryl Cole has spoken out about ex-husband Ashley's cheating for the first time in an interview with fashion bible Vogue.

The singer said she felt 'betrayed' and that she was glad that they didn't have children together. The estranged couple's four-year-marriage was legally dissolved  in High Court last Friday after it was revealed earlier this year that Ashley had repeatedly cheated on his wife.

But despite her heartache, Cheryl says she is ready to move on now: 'I accept that that's a chapetr of my life that's finished.'

Asked whether she felt betrayed by Ashley's sordid romps with five different women, the Geordie star said: 'Yes, definitely I do. But I've got to take everything that's happened and learn from it.'

The 27-year-old also said that she was thankful there weren't any kids involved in her marriage split.

She said: 'There's no children, you know? Some people's lives fall apart, are turned upside down. Of course it's heartbreaking, but it's not anything remotely like it could have been and I'm very thankful for that.'

And Cheryl, who arrived back in the UK to return to The X Factor after recovering from Malaria, says she is focussing on the good things in her life.

She told Vogue: 'I've just got to be grateful that I have so many good things going on in my life.'

And Cheryl, who's made no secret of her desire to start a family in the past, says she would still love to be a mum one day:

'That's definitely something I want to achieve. It's the toughest job in the world, but I know it must be the most rewarding too.'
