Coleen visits Lourdes to pray for Rosie

Monday 20 September 2010

We do feel for poor Coleen. Not only has she found out that her husband has been unfaithful, but her 12-year-old sister, Rosie has fallen seriously ill.

As practising Catholics, there has certainly never been a more apt time to call upon their faith.

Coleen's family took a trip to the holy-site, Lourdes, in South-West France in a bid to pray for the little girl. Friends said that Coleen has planned to bring back bottles of Holy water from the towns natural springs, which are said to have healing powers.

She visited the Grotto of Lourdes, where visitors write their prayers on paper and post them in a box.

One friend said, "Coleen has visited Lourdes several times. Her parents used to take her when she was very young and she has since been back with children from her local church and again with Rosie two years ago. Her trips have always helped her and she needs all the strength she can get for the coming weeks."

Coleen made the pilgrimage with her parents and her son, Kai.

We certainly hope that this helps and Rosie gets better soon!

I don't believe in things like that either but if I where in her shoes I know that I would go there if I could and I would find myself praying every day. My heart goes out to her and all her family and I also desperately hope she gets better soon. xxxxxx

RE: Coleen visits Lourdes to pray for Rosie

Perhaps the very fact that Colleen is Catholic is the very reason she took Wayne Rooney back, in the Catholic faith divorce is not an option without being expelled as such! I know some still do it, even Mel Gibson and wife Robyn but it's strange how your religion can cut you off for divorcing someone with good cause!!
As for Lourdes, well I may not be Catholic but all I can say is there are more things on heaven and earth that we don't and will never be able to understand or explain away! Many have been cured at Lourdes, that's why it's classed as a holy site and I guess right now Colleen needs her faith more than ever, to see her 12 year old sister like this must be devastating! I hope her sister Rosie recovers soon and I agree with the above in many ways, if it was your sister or your child you would try everything and anything you could even if you truly didn't believe it would help!
