‘Wayne can party all night – I trust him!’

With their fourth wedding anniversary in two weeks’ time, Coleen and Wayne Rooney looked loved-up on a trip to Las Vegas last week, cuddling up for a rare public display of affection in Closer’s exclusive pictures.
With Coleen showing off her enviable size 8-10 figure in a series of bright bikinis, the happy couple showed their 10-year relationship is still going strong – despite reports of Wayne’s night of partying without Coleen just a few days before.
Pals say there was the assumption the mum-of-one would be furious about the snaps of Wayne, 26, seemingly chatting to a number of girls in the resort’s Tryst nightclub – especially given their past high-profile marriage troubles.
But Coleen defiantly told pals: “Wayne’s done nothing wrong – he can go out to party all night, I trust him.”
An insider says: “Coleen knows what’s true, and knows Wayne would never do anything particularly stupid when he’s in a public place and people have their cameras out. She says they’re not joined at the hip – he can have a night out without her and, at the end of the evening, it’s her he goes to bed with.”
And, as Closer reported last week, sources say Coleen’s newly toned figure also has her feeling more confident than ever – which was evident when she flaunted her curves in an orange bikini, as she and Wayne posed for pictures.
Later, the couple were snapped cuddling and kissing passionately during a pool party.
A source says: “Of course Wayne and Coleen get quite loved-up behind closed doors when it’s just their friends or family around, especially if they’re drunk. They’re still young and pals are used to seeing them being affectionate.
“They’re usually a bit more cautious in public, but they’d had a couple of drinks and didn’t care who saw – or about the pictures of Wayne with these girls.”
Coleen and Wayne, parents to two-year-old Kai, holidayed with her parents, Tony and Colette, and her best pals Amy Wilkinson and Wayne’s cousin, Claire Rooney, at the Encore Beach Club at the Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas. Wes Brown, 32, Wayne’s ex-Man Utd teammate, was also there with his wife, Leanne, 35.
During the trip – a last break before Wayne’s training and matches for Euro 2012 begin next week – Coleen proudly paraded her trim body in a series of bright designer bikinis, which showed off her tan.
As Closer recently revealed, Coleen, 26, has started doing 40°C hot Bikram yoga classes alongside her usual fitness training to tone up, as the heat helps you burn more calories.
Coleen, who is 5ft 3, also lost 5lbs after embarking on a strict two-week diet – cutting out booze and carbs – and exercise plan in March before a new photo shoot for her Littlewoods fashion line, after feeling self-conscious during a previous shoot in January.
Now thought to weigh around 8st 10lbs, pals say Coleen couldn’t be happier with the results and is in a really good place both personally and in her marriage.
A pal says: “She looks sexy. She’s never felt this confident or good about her life.”
The couple have been through a number of rough patches, weathering the storm in 2010 when Wayne was alleged to have paid for a threesome with prostitutes Jennifer Thompson and Helen Wood while Coleen was pregnant with Kai.
Struggling to patch up their marriage in the wake of the scandal, Coleen was reported to have attended marriage counselling on her own to come to terms with the situation.
She was faced with a similar scandal in 2004, when it was reported Wayne had paid £140 for sex with hooker Charlotte Glover, and grandmother Patricia Tierney was said to have slept with Wayne when he visited a Liverpool brothel at 16.
But pals say the pair are now stronger than ever and Coleen has shrugged off the Vegas party snaps. A source tells Closer: “Wayne and Coleen have worked on their relationship in private for a long time – they’ve been through a lot and no one but them knows just how far they’ve come to get here. She hates that people are still commenting on their relationship. The two of them can’t even have a disagreement or a bad day in public before the whole world thinks their marriage is doomed.
“Coleen knows she can’t stop rumours, but she doesn’t waste time on them any more. As far as she’s concerned, it makes them stronger. They’ve even been joking about how they were trying for a Vegas baby and telling pals they’d call it Elvis. She can’t understand why people won’t believe that they’re happy. She said: ‘I stand by him – there’s always someone making something out of nothing.’”
A pal adds: “She’s got another few holidays coming up, but without Wayne, so she just really wanted to have a good time with him. She’ll be going to Barbados for a few weeks soon, so she’s now back on a strict diet again after their Vegas blow-out.”
