After rumours surfaced that Dannii Minouge had enjoyed a steamy love affair with Simon Cowell a couple of years back, she was said to be devestated with the revelation. But, despite the timings - Danni has only recently split with long-term partner Kris Smith - there is no getting away from the truth.
Simon Cowell has revealed that he felt 'genuine love' for Dannii Minogue as it emerges that he had a love affair with the singer. He even admitted that he felt like a schoolboy around the Australian.
Details of the affair have been revealed in a book entitled The Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell, written by former BBC journalist Tom Bower. Simon's publicist, Max Clifford confirmed the rumours this week.
Max confirmed that the two were lovers, telling Exclusive TV: 'Yes - he did have a relationship with Dannii.'
The PR guru then went on to defend Simon, 52, by saying that X Factor boss does his best to keep his relationships out of the public eye: 'Everyone who knows Simon knows he keeps his private life as private as possible. But [it's] the truth,' Clifford said.
Criticising Bower, Clifford added: 'It was Simon's choice, but my attitude is you don't talk to someone like Tom Bower, he's only really looking for the controversial stuff. It was a mistake.'
Meanwhile, Sharon Osbourne blasted Dannii, syaing that her sole reason of taking part in the show as being to 'f*** Simon'.
Sharon told The Mirror: 'Dannii wanted to be the mistress of Simon - and the mistress of X Factor.
But I didn’t leave the show because Simon and Dannii were f******, I left because she became unbearable. She started bossing everyone around, even the producers.'
Sharon insists the affair 'wasn't a secret' and is bemused why it was kept private as he had already split from Terri Seymour - whose connections to Cowell later landed her a job on US show Extra.
She added: 'All Dannii wanted to do was f*** Simon Cowell. That’s why she was on the show.'
