Eva Longoria files for divorce from Tony Parker
Thursday 18 November 2010
Another week and another Hollywood marriage bites the dust. This time its devastated Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria, who has served papers to end her three year marriage to Tony Parker after she discovered he had been unfaithful.
The petite Latino actress reportedly found ‘hundreds of texts’ from another woman on basketball player Parker’s phone. The woman is said to be the wife of a fellow NBA player's teammate at the San Antonio Spurs. She has not been identified.
Longoria told her pal Mario Lopez, who is host of U.S. entertainment show Extra, of Parkers infidelities.
Lopez said Eva is ‘devastated’ but ‘strong’.
Parker also cheated on her with another woman who he kept in touch with via Facebook.
She confirmed the split today, tweeting: 'It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.'
Parker, who was apparently too lazy to write his own, tweeted the same message later.
Eva, 35, and Parker, 27, were engaged in November 2006 and married in July of 2007 in a Roman Catholic ceremony in Paris, France.
Eva was previously married to American soap star Tyler Christopher from 2002 until 2004.
Some reports in the US say the couple had a prenuptial agreement, whereas the Metro reports the petition says Longoria is seeking spousal support from Parker.
Eva, who’s full name is Eva Jaqueline Longoria Parker, is planning on dropping ‘Parker’ from her name and has pulled out of her November 21 appearance at the American Music Awards.
Our heart goes out to Eva, our favourite Desperate Housewife, and we hope she stays strong through this difficult time.
