X Factor

Gary Barlow shows his support to Cheryl

Thursday 02 June 2011

Cheryl Cole has had a bad week hasn’t she? First she gets sacked from US X-Factor, and then she is snubbed from the UK version. Now she has new judge Gary Barlow sending her sympathies. The phrase, ‘rubbing salt in the wounds,’ comes to mind Gaz.

Both Cole and Barlow are said to be good friends ever since they climbed Mouth Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief in 2009. Singer and songwriter Gary, 40, has said Chezza is recovering after being fired from the US show. The 27-year-old singer is said to be avoiding calls from Cowell, after feeling betrayed by her friend and mentor, but not it seems from Take That front man, Gary Barlow.

Talking to the Daily Mail, Barlow has said: “Cheryl is a very good friend of mine. I’m sending support. I’ve spoken to her and I think she has turned a corner now. I would say she is going places.”

Though many critics have said this turn of events is career suicide for the Geordie pop star, Mr. Barlow does not seem to share this sentiment: “I know her quite well and she is an ambitious girl, she’s very together and she’ll get over this, no question.”

While Cheryl is still in hiding after the humiliations of this week, the new X-Factor judges have been wowing the crowds at the auditions. New judges Gary, Tulisa and Kelly seem to impress the crowds, with most fans happy with the new line up. With old favourite Louis Walsh providing a familiar face, this years' X-Factor appears to be bigger and better than ever.
