Alison Hammond, Britt Ekland leave I'm a Celeb
Wednesday 01 December 2010
You now how it is when you go to the dentist – the annoying wait, the dentist chair, those giant bugs in your mouth.
OK the last one you might not be used to, but it’s what I'm A Celebrity contestants Alison Hammond and Kayla Collins had to deal with as this took part in the show’s latest disgusting trial - The Dentalist.
The Bushtucker trial - which made us at Closer feel sick just sitting on our sofas - saw the pair battle each other as they were given a series of creepy crawlies to hold in their mouth for 20 seconds. (Is it just us who’s feeling more sympathy for the bugs than the celebs this year?)
The jungle nasties, ranging from spiders to a prawn-like opal yabbie, were held in Alison and Kayla’s mouths as the pair fought for survival on the show. After falling in the bottom two in the viewer vote, the one-off challenge would decide who was sent packing.
Kayla said on the grasshopper she held in her mouth: 'I could feel him trying to move around, it was gross.'
Alison, who also completed this part of the trial, agreed: 'It felt like an unwound paper clip in my mouth.'
While Alison refused a giant burrowing cockroach after claiming it was too big, Kayla successfully held hers in her mouth - despite its attempts to escape.
After trials with both water spiders and opal yabbies, the scores became even again when Kayla spat her Goliath stick insect out after claiming it had 'peed' on her.
With both scores tied, the pair were offered a tie-breaker mouthwash of pulped cockroaches – but both refused.
It meant that the eviction reverted back to who received the least viewers' votes - which was Alison.
After hearing the news, Alison said: 'That was fair, I've had a great time. I'm so happy but thanks for letting me come along.'
Meanwhile, Britt Ekland became the fourth celebrity to receive her marching orders in a live eviction on last night's show.
The Swedish actress said on leaving the jungle: 'It actually feels good,' adding that she was looking forward to showering and washing her hair.
However Britt also had a few words on Gillian McKeith, stating that she didn't believe her collapse on the live trial.
She said: "It was a good piece of acting. I think she picked her moment. She wanted to be in there for whatever reason but she didn't want to do anything or partake."
Or even be in the jungle, we reckon.
