Jamelia to divorce after a year of marriage

Jamelia is divorcing her husband Darren Byfield after a year of marriage, it was reported today.

The 28-year-old pop star has apparently  moved out of the home she shared with Darren, and has been consulting with her lawyers to write up divorce papers.

They issued a joint statement to the press, which said: "It is with regret that Jamelia and Darren Byfield today confirm they are splitting up and getting a divorce." 

Jamelia and Darren's relationship hit the rocks previously in 2007, after the Walsall player was allegedly spotted out with a blonde.




This time, however, the couple were keen to state that nobody else was involved in the breakup.

"No one else is involved. Their priority is naturally their two children," the statement clarified.

Custody of Tiani, four, and Teja, eight, has not been discussed as of yet.
