Jenifer Lopez has hinted she might be leaving as a judge on American Idol.

The Latina singer and actress spoke out on an American TV show saying: “Maybe it's time for me to go. It's been on my mind a lot, as you can imagine, and now it's like, "Do we continue on this journey?"
“I've loved it so much. I enjoy the show so much... It's a tough decision either way.
“At the end of the day, whichever way, it's a heart-breaking decision if I'm going to have to go.”
Maybe the 42-year-old mum thinks it’s time to step down because she can’t compete with the younger models on rival show The X Factor USA, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. Or perhaps she’s decided to settle down with boyfriend Casper Smart.
Either way, the international superstar appears to be leaning in the direction of leaving the show, revealing that it is unlikely she will be returning for athird series.
It doesn’t look like the megastar will find it hard to get work though, claiming she put other opportunities on hold while judging the talent show.
“I signed on ‘American Idol’ to do one year and I wound up doing two years,” JLO told an American TV show.
“I have to say that there are so many other things that I do and that I put on a hold for that,” she said adding that “it’s time for me to go.”
Meanwhile, fellow judge Steven Tyler confirmed this week that he will not be returning to the show.

In a statement he said: “After some long... hard thoughts... I’ve decided it’s time to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbits.
“I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back - 'Idol' was over-the-top fun and I loved every minute of it. Now it's time to bring Rock Back.”
It is reported that long-running judge Randy Jackson’s future on the show is also uncertain.
