'There’s no room for Kerry in Atomic Kitten’
Thursday 03 May 2012
She stepped into the limelight over a decade ago when she replaced Kerry Katona in Atomic Kitten, and now Jenny Frost admits she’s tempted by the prospect of a reunion with the former girl group – but only if Kerry isn’t in the line up.
Despite Atomic Kitten splitting eight years ago, Jenny met with her former bandmates Liz McClarnon, 31, and Natasha Hamilton, 29, earlier this year to discuss plans for the group to reform.
The 34 year old – who enjoyed a string of hits with the girls, including Eternal Flame – declared in 2009 she would rather “eat my own kidney with a spoon” than work with Kerry, 31, who’s confirmed she wants to be part of the reformed band.
Jenny – who replaced Kerry in 2001 after she fell pregnant – tells Closer: “I’m not going to deny saying those things because I did. But I made those comments when Kerry was in a really bad way.
“At the time, she was with Mark, but she’s sorted herself out now for her kids. When she went on Celebrity Big Brother last year, she said she was there to try to change people’s opinions of her – and she did.
“I don’t want to be derogatory about Kerry, but there shouldn’t be four of us in Atomic Kitten. When we do anything, it will be the three of us.”
The Snog Marry Avoid? presenter – who lives in Cheshire and has a seven-bed mansion in Ibiza – says: “We’ve had lots of approaches from broadcasters about doing our version of the Steps documentary. But the whole premise of their show is that they didn’t like each other, while we do. So that would be half the programme gone!
“I get on with Tash and Liz, but I’m sure we could find things that annoy us about each other. Although I doubt it would make an hour-long show.

“There have also been offers for us to go on tour in Asia, which we’re considering. Whatever we do, we want to come back with a bit of bang!”
