Jessica Biel: "I'm in no rush to get married"

Wednesday 01 August 2012

While most brides would be rushing at the chance to plan their wedding, it looks like Jessica Biel is taking a different approach following her engagement to Justin Timberlake in December last year.

The actress, 30, recently admitted that she’s in no rush to prepare wedding arrangements, following an on-off five year romance with the former pop star.

She told an American newspaper: ‘I’m just enjoying being engaged.’

Despite the nuptials apparently set to take place later this summer, Jessica seems to have a very relaxed attitude to the big day.

‘I do feel like there is a lot of time and nothing needs to be rushed’, she said.

Biel/Timberlake fans need not worry that the relationship is on the rocks though. In fact, it sounds far from it.

She said: ‘Everyone tells me that being engaged is the really special moment… Not that it gets bad when you get married! But being engaged is just absolutely amazing. You’re in this romantic, ahh, breathless moment that I’m just trying to extend as long as possible.’

Getting married was never on the cards for Biel until Justin, 31, came along. She admitted: ‘It’s actually not anything I ever really thought was going to happen to me or that I really wanted…And when it happened it just seemed – it just was right.’

Having been together since 2007, the notoriously private couple split briefly in 2011. But it didn’t take long before Timberlake put a ring on her finger.

She said: ‘I had no say whatsoever [in the ring]. I don’t micromanage. He is fearless in his choices and has a real eye for design. And I’ll be honest - he has better taste than I do.’

Though the Total Recall star is commonly associated with action roles, she is reportedly looking to branch out in different genres.

She said: ‘Maybe another great comedy, something even like raunchy girl comedy like Bridesmaids. I’d love to check that world out.’

She added: 'I would love to do some kind of great, epic...like 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age', playing an incredible woman in history who just made a major dent on the world.'

'That would be amazing, something like that.'
