Jessie J told to come out as bi rather than gay

According to the claims in a new book, Jessie J is a lesbian who was forced to tell her fans she was bisexual because it was more 'trendy.'
The book, written by Chloe Govan, said that her record label insisted that she say she was bisexuals as opposed to gay because it was more appealing to the majority, and although she was 'incensed' by the decision, she went ahead with it.
The unauthorised biography claims that Jessie knew she was gay at the age of 17 but went along with the lie because she was scared of losing her record contract with Universal.
Chloe said: 'Jessie might have been with boys in the past - but she is 100 per cent gay. Jessie was openly lesbian and didn’t hide it.
'She was advised not to come out, though. Certain people thought being bi was trendy, exotic and a fashion statement. It would increase her allure.'
She added: 'There are so many homophobes out and there were fears of a career-damaging backlash.'
In March last year, Jessie revealed that she was openly bisexual. She said: 'I've never denied it. Whoopie doo guys, yes, I've dated girls and I've dated boys – get over it.
'If I meet someone and I like them, I don’t care if they’re a boy or a girl.'
