Jessie J bags four mobos!
Thursday 06 October 2011
Jessi J is on a role at the moment, isn't she! After breaking onto the music scene late last year, the soulful songstress has won a number of newcomer awards and it looks like she will have to find yet more room on her mantlepiece.
Jessie J walked away from the Mobo awards last night with a staggering four awards. The 23-year-old was nominated in five categories, winning Best Newcomer, Best UK Act, Best Album for Who You Are and Best Song for Do It Like A Dude and she couldn't have looked more chuffed!
The event also marked the singers first even without the cast she has been wearing since rapturing tendons in her foot earlier this year.
Accepting the Best Single award, Jessie J said: 'If you hear Do It Like A Dude at the party afterwards, do me a favour and get your d**ks out for me.'
Jessie swapped her usual sleek black bob for tumbling curls, and opted for a gothic lace dress with a sweep of red lipstick to celebrate the night. However, she changed out of the floor length number for her energetic performance and back into her usual attire of shorts and a cropped top.
Rapper Tinchy Stryder also had a successful night, picking up Best Hip-hop Act and Best Video for his duet with Dappy, Spaceship whilst Dionne Bromfield performed a moving tribute to her late godmother Amy Winehouse, singing Love Is A Losing Game against a backdrop of a video montage of Amy.
