Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis split

Johnny Depp has separated from his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, it was announced yesterday.
After months of rumours concerning the couple’s rocky relationship, the 49-year-old actor’s representative confirmed the news in a statement despite repeated denials by the pair.
"Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated,” said Depp’s publicist.
“Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children."
Johnny and French-born actress Vanessa, 39, began dating in 1998 following the end of his relationship with Kate Moss after meeting on the set of Roman Polanski's film The Ninth Gate.
Although they famously never married, they have two children together, Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9, which Depp said had given their partnership a ‘real foundation.’
Despite constant rumours that their relationship was in trouble, the Chocolat star blasted speculation back in May. He said: 'The rumours are not true. They are absolutely not true.
'No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite. I can't say enough about it not being over.'
Vanessa also hit out against the claims as she promoted her new movie Café de Flore at the beginning of the year. She said: ''People say we are buying houses in the middle of nowhere, or that we have fifty two houses in France.
'And that is along with saying we split up every winter and get married every summer, and that I'm on my twelfth pregnancy
.
'All that is not too serious, but this latest one is a rumour which could cause a lot of harm to my family and my children.'
According to an American publication, the couple tried to save their relationship to no avail. A source said: 'They've tried for months to save the relationship but have known for weeks that it couldn't be saved.'
Although rumours of a split didn’t surface until the end of 2011, Johnny and Vanessa have not been seen at a public event together since 2010. Instead, co-star Amber Heard, 26, who appeared alongside Depp in The Rum Diaries, accompanied the star as he promoted his latest film, Dark Shadows and has since been romantically linked with the star.
The pair travelled together on Depp's private plane ahead of their appearence hinting of something more than friendship between the two.
