Kai Rooney looks spooky in his Halloween get up as we take a look at the best kiddy costumes!

Thursday 01 November 2012

Although our favourite celebs have really been getting into the Halloween spirit this year – Kim Kardashian ditched her trademark chocolate locks in favour of a blonde wig as she dressed up as a mermaid for a party in LA, while Olympian Tom Daley decided to cover up his infamous washboard abs with an inflatable skeleton costume for a night out in London – it has been the kids that have impressed us with their dressing up abilities the most!

Coleen Rooney showed off her make-up skills yesterday as she posted a picture of two-year-old Kai dressed as the joker from film franchise Batman. The toddler wore a pair of purple pinstripe trousers, a long purple overcoat and green waistcoat and tie complete with green hair and a frightening large red painted-on smile. She tweeted: ‘Happy Halloween!! Kai has loved it!!’

Amanda Holden and Lexi

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden also celebrated the day with her two daughters, and took to Twitter to share their fancy get-up. Uploading a picture with her eldest daughter Lexi, the pair looked positively spooky as they posed for the camera with pale white faces covered in fake blood. Meanwhile over in LA, Una Healy took to Instagram to upload a picture of her seven-month daughter Aoife Belle in a cute pumpkin outfit.

But, of course, it wasn’t just the celebs that took to social networking to show off their children’s fancy dress. We asked Closer readers to send pictures of their frightening little ones to our Facebook page and here are some of our favourites!

Lexy sent in this picture of her five-year-old Frankie dressed as a spooky skeleton/vampire. Loving the hair and make-up – scary yet stylish!

This is seven-year-old Leah set for a night of trick or treating as a witch, sent in by Joyce. Very convincing!

And here are Rhiannon, 11, Chloe, 9, Carmen, 7, and Jaimie-Leigh, 6, looking terrifying at a Halloween party last weekend. Well, we wouldn’t want to bump into these four down a dark alley!
