Katie Price announces split from Leo as she denies sending flirty messages to X Factor hopeful

Katie Price has taken to her official blog to announce the ‘sad’ news that she has split from her Argentinian boyfriend.
The former glamour model notified her Twitter followers that she had something to announce before posting a link to the official statement entitled ‘Leo and I.’
A representative for Katie wrote: ‘Despite remaining firm friends and having a deep affection for each other Kate and Leo have decided to separate.
And the 34-year-old added: 'Leo and I have had a lovely fun time for a couple of years, we will always feel deep affection for each other, but sometimes relationships just run their course.
'Pressures of work on different continents, natural demands of family ties, and careers, have meant we have spent a huge amount of time apart even when we were in the same country. This meant it was difficult for the relationship to move forward.'
Showing there are no hard feelings she concluded: 'Accordingly we've mutually decided to call it a day, but we really wish each other nothing but the very best and will remain best of friends, whoever he eventually settles down with will be a very lucky girl.'

The mother-of-three, who has been married twice already, met Leo at Elton John’s Oscar party last February and the pair enjoyed a whirlwind romance – even inking themselves with each other’s names.
The news of their break up comes amid claims that Katie had been texting 18-year-old X Factor finalist Dan Ferrari-Lane from boyband District3 flirty messages while staying in the contestants’ hotel in London.
And Closer reported this week that Leandro hit the roof when he heard about the messages with pals saying: “He started shouting in Spanish, swearing at her, then he said: ‘If you text him again, it’s over!’ He told her he doesn’t think he can trust her any more.”
But Katie also took the opportunity to rubbish the reports as she announced the split.
She wrote: 'Quite separately, it is unfortunate that this separation coincides with some utterly ridiculous and silly stories about a boy band member.

'This has nothing to do with the ending of Kate and Leo's relationship and her contact with the boy band member has been entirely innocent and platonic.’
The statement came just hours after Katie took to the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall to attend the Skyfall premiere, where there were claims the reality TV star was chucked off the red carpet initially, because she tried to appear in front of the crowd at the same time as Prince Charles.
She wore a black cut-out gown with over-the-knee boots and silver clutch.
