Jordan to file for divorce on 1y anniversary

Poor Alex! Things just seem to be going from bad to worse at the moment, don't they?

What should have been a day of celebration for the couple looks as though it might be more a case of disappointment as it's reported that Jordan is going to file for divorce on that exact day.

The Sun reports that her lawyers advised the star that it was the earliest possible time that she could start proceedings. It said that the pair had a summit meeting on Monday at their marital home at the end of which Alex finally agreed to call time on their marriage.

It's said he had been hoping they could make the marriage work, but had finally accepted it was time to move on.

A friend said: "Katie is chomping at the bit to file papers but has been told she has to wait until the one-year marker,"

"She told Alex she will petition for divorce as soon as possible, which is a week on Thursday. He has agreed. This is one of several significant gestures on his part but he still wants to make sure he gets a good deal," the friend added.

After Monday's showdown, Alex said: "It's the end of the road. I'll probably leave here with the shirt on my back and that's it. My priority now is finding somewhere to live."
