Katie Waissell: 'I thought you were better than that Cheryl'

Katie Waissell has taken to Twitter to blast former mentor Cheryl Cole as she reveals she only chose the wannabe as she thought she would 'make good TV.'

Katie, who split public opinion during her stint on the show because of her eccentric behaviour and unique vocal talent, took to Twitter to vent her frustration at the former X Factor judge.
Cheryl had written in her book Cheryl: My Story, that she 'wasn't sure' about Katie, who famously forgot the words to her audition piece We Are The Champions before belting out Etta James' track At Last during the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.
Cheryl wrote: 'Simon Cowell had spent the past two years drumming into me that we needed acts who would be "good TV".
'When I saw Katie perform this time, I had to admit that she was certainly that. She was quirky, intriguing and busting to succeed.
'In short, she had the character and drive it took to withstand the pressure of the show, and so I put her through, even though she messed up when she sang in front of will.i.am.’

And obviously upset about the revealtion, Katie tweeted her former mentor. She wrote: ‘@cherylcole I thought you were better than this. Shame I trusted you. you live and you learn.’
Katie, who is now married to american model Brad Alphonso, worked alongside Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson in the Girls category, both of whom have created successful careers for themselves since the show. Katie is now the lead singer of rock band Red Velvet.
