Kelly Brook: 'Ant and Dec ruined my career'

Kelly Brook has revealed that she struggled getting work after offending Ant and Dec on Britain's Got Talent.

The model and actress, who was axed from the show within a week of starting her role as a judge, said that the double act took such a dislike to her that they were the reason for her departure.

She said in an interview: "There was nothing I could do in this country after Britain's Got Talent. The people at ITV were telling me that I had upset Ant and Dec and that was it."

National treasures Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly wrote about Kelly in their autobiography, saying that she had gone up to them and asked what their role was on the show, alleging that this meant she had never bothered to watch the show.

Kelly's side of the story is a little more innocent, though: "I can't remember exactly what I said to Ant and Dec, but it was something like: "What will you two be doing backstage on the show?" Of course I knew what they did on the show."
Kelly was reportedly asked to join Britain's Got Talent by Simon Cowell, who was attempting to bring a younger audience in, in the style of The X Factor with Cheryl Cole.

She adds that she had no trouble with any other people on the show: "Everybody else on the show was great... I have seen [Simon Cowell] since and he told me that if it had been down to him I would have still been on the show because he thought I was great.

Simon was away filming American Idol in the States when much of the drama went down, but in the aftermath, told Kelly: "You don't even want to know what was going on behind the scenes. It is just a case of some people not wanting you there."

We're a little shocked - who knew that lovely Ant and Dec were capable of such a thing?

Kelly Brook is undoubtedly beautiful and has a fabulous figure. She is probably a very sweet person. However, her tv skills are appalling. Diabolical actually! Celebrity Love Island was just the worst ever!! She just sat looking pretty and grinning like a cheshire cat. A very sickly laugh. Sorry to sound bitchy but she just cant present and certainly cannot judge! Having said that I would prefer anyone to Amanda bloody Holden!

Oh god yeah,Amanda Holden is so false!...it was cringe worthy watching her on that cook along live!...
I agree with what you say about Kelly,i think she should stick to modeling,that way she doesn't have to open her mouth! : )

I sound really bitchy.....but the holden winds me right up!! Its all that air kissing and mother hen thing she does! Getting up to comfort that little girl who was cry on BGT (or as I think, throwing a little paddy and stamping her ballet shoe clad feet)! Anyway, I am not being mean to Kelly, she look amazing on her picture! Just rubbish at presenting!

Why didnt they learn from her first attempt at presenting on breakfast tv.She couldnt do it then so what has chanded Not a lot me thinks. Sorry Kelly truth hurts stick to what you know looking good and acting dumb.

I don't like Kelly Brook and she's just looking for another excuse for her non-existent career. No-one else has ever had a problem with Ant or Dec so it's typical that she does.

Haitch 30 Oh yeah, Kelly Brook as a presenter or judge is dire, didn't they have an article when she first went in front of the audience on BGT that the audience couldn't stand her?! Amanda Holden certainly couldn't, the fuss that was made about bringing in the young bit of stuff and that one more judge was too many lol!!
Totally agree about Amanda Holden though, so no doubt I'll end up with more knives in the back for that, but her every appearance and interview is so false I avoid watching anything she appears in - can't stand her lol!! Still obviously a lot of her fans can as there was a right hissy fit about her possibly being sidelined on BGT by Kelly Brook lol!!!
