‘I’m in pain but it’s worth it!’

She recently splashed out £8,500 on cosmetic surgery, and Kerry Katona is relieved to have got rid of her “kangaroo pouch” after years of yo-yo dieting.
The star, who’s hoping she’ll shed almost 1½st thanks to her latest procedures, was snapped out in Kent last week examining the bandages on her stomach.
She even stopped off at a newsagent to read Closer’s recent exclusive feature, breaking the news of her drastic operations.
But, despite being pleased with the results of her surgery and Tweeting the first glimpse of her new figure in a tight black dress last week, pals say the mum-of-four is stressed about money, after learning that a much-touted reunion with her former band Atomic Kitten might not happen.
A source says: “Kerry is so pleased she’s had the surgery. Even though immediately afterwards she was in bandages and a bit swollen, she could already tell her tummy was flatter. She’s still in pain and is taking medication and has bruising from the waist down, but she’s up and about again already. However, the news that the reunion might not happen has put a dampener on things. She’s been in tears and is desperate for it to happen.”
As Closer exclusively revealed last week, size 10-12 Kerry, 31, had lipo and a “tightening” procedure across her stomach, legs and bum two weeks ago, leaving her in a lot of pain.
She later admitted: “I’m high as a kite on painkillers because I’m recovering from a tummy tuck. No matter how much weight I lost, I couldn’t get rid of a pocket of skin that hung like a kangaroo pouch.”
Earlier this year, Kerry dropped from 10st 4lbs to 8st following a stint in boot camp and hypnotherapy sessions, but her weight slowly crept back up. Before her recent surgery, the 5ft 3 star was 9½st, but she’s hoping that once the swelling subsides, the procedures will have taken her down to 8st again.
A pal says: “She’s joked she won’t have to tuck her tummy into her pants any more and says she’s already lost 5lbs, despite the swelling. There’s a small scar in her bikini area and she’s been wearing a full body stocking to reduce fluid build-up.”
As Closer reported last week, Kerry’s decision to have the op was prompted in part by a possible Atomic Kitten reunion with former bandmates Natasha Hamilton, 29, and Liz McClarnon, 31. She’s said to have told pals she didn’t want to “look big” on stage. But she’s since been devastated to learn that it is now looking less likely, and pals say she’s worried about her finances.
Declared bankrupt in 2008, Kerry was believed to owe £417,000 in unpaid taxes, after blowing her fortune during her disastrous marriage to cabbie Mark Croft, who she divorced in 2009. But she had the order lifted last year and has finally cleared her debts.
A source says: “She said the company promoting the reunion are nervous about taking a chance on an Atomic Kitten tour. The girls don’t have the same fanbase as, say, the Spice Girls. Kerry has her solo career, but while her fans like following her life, they might not buy her singles. But she’s got a few gigs lined up and is hoping it will take off.”

But pals say that money worries aside, Kerry is still ecstatic with her new body – and hopes to show it off with a wedding to boyfriend Steve Alce, 34, who she’s been dating for six months.
A pal says: “Steve wasn’t bothered about her having the treatment, but she says she feels more confident already. She’d love to show off her new figure in a wedding dress.”
