Kris Humphries: 'I am devestated!'

After the shocking news of their split yesterday, Kim Kardashian claims she will ‘remain friends’ with her husband of just 72 days, Kris Humphries.
The couple, who have reportedly made a whopping $18m from their wedding, married in a lavish $10m ceremony in California last August. 31-year-old Kim claims she hoped the marriage would ‘last forever’ and it was ‘not an easy decision’ to end it. The reality star filed for divorce yesterday on the grounds of ‘irreconcilable differences’.
In a statement given by his representative, NBA star Kris said ‘I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce ... I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.’
The news was first announced yesterday after Kim’s producer, Ryan Seacrest, tweeted 'Yes @KimKardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins.’
Host of the Kardashian reality show, E!, released a statement saying ‘All of us at E! are surprised and saddened by this news, and we send our support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time.’
The marriage has reportedly been on the rocks for a while, with the star couple regularly being spotted apart. Yesterday Kim was victim to a fury of negative comments on Twitter, but sister, Khloe Kardashian was quick to defend her, writing: ‘reading some of these comments r so hurtful. I’m grateful 4 our fans who understand & r being respectful. Hate is disgusting. Love is everything.’
