Kourtney Kardashian gained 45 lbs during her pregnancy but plans to lose her baby weight sensibly

Kourtney Kardashian welcomed her second child, daughter Penelope Scotland Disick, to the Kardashian clan on 8th July 2012.
The style conscious reality star is used to keeping to strict diets as her every move is broadcast to the world, so her pregnancy has been a great excuse to relax her eating habits. Kourtney revealed to a US magazine, ‘I gained nearly 45 pounds. I’m 5 feet tall, so that’s a lot.’ Doctors usually recommend a weight gain of between 25 to 35lbs during pregnancy.
The yummy mummy collapsed after a strict fitness regime following first child Mason’s birth proved too much. Kourtney was determined to slim down in time for a bikini photo shoot, and launched herself straight into a gruelling post-baby workout plan, resulting in the star losing 33 lbs in just 3 months. An episode of Keeping up with The Kardashians showed the star being helped by paramedics after fainting during a run on the beach. She later admitted 'I'm so embarrassed that I punished my body for a photo shoot. I've been obsessing about this weight thing a little too much.’
It seems this experience has encouraged the petite star to try a different approach this time around. With daughter Penelope only 6 weeks old, Kourtney is in no great hurry to shed the weight. 'While I'm here around the house, I just eat healthy,' she told a magazine.

Kourtney also helped deliver her daughter, as she did first time around with son Mason. She recalls: ‘She was coming out, and I was thinking, I should pull her. With Mason, I had no idea I was going to do that. This time, I thought, this is what I'm supposed to do.'
Kourtney and Scott are currently enjoying playing happy families with Scott saying ‘Seeing her (Kourtney) now, back in her normal mood, melts my heart. She is happy, nice and energetic - all the reasons I fell in love with her.’
