Lady Gaga hits back at weight critics and launches the Body Revolution

Wednesday 26 September 2012

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has hit back at weight critics by posting several lingerie-clad pictures of herself on her official blog.

The singer came under scrutiny last week after she was spotted on stage sporting a fuller figure than we're used to seeing on the svelte star. But the Born This Way singer has hit back at her critics - by posing in just her underwear to completely flaunt her physique.

The star opened up to her fans about her weight, and posted several pictures of herself wearing just a bra and underpants with a caption that reads: 'Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15.'

The star - who has almost 30 million Twitter followers - wrote: 'My boyfriend prefers me curvier. When I eat I am healthy and not so worried about my looks, I'm happy. Happier than I've ever been.

'I am not going to go on a psycho-spree because of scrutiny. This is who I am. And I am proud at any size.'

The 26-year-old superstar hit back after a series of unflattering pictures from her most recent tour were posted online, with the claim that she had 'piled on the pounds.'

While admitting that she has gained 25lbs, Lady Gaga says that she is horrified at the attention it has got, and as a result, has launched a sub-section of her website called Body Revolution.

As well as the series of half-naked images, Ms Gaga wrote: 'But today I join the BODY REVOLUTION. To Inspire Bravery. And BREED some m$therf**king COMPASSION.'

The page continues: 'My mother and I created the BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION for one reason: 'to inspire bravery.''

'This profile is an extension of that dream. Be brave and celebrate with us your "perceived flaws," as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous.'

Fans have flooded the site with their own stories, praising Gaga for her honesty.

'I have been startled and overwhelmed with pride and emotion the past few days. Gratitude mostly' said the singer.

'Seeing you post photos of things on your bodies and in your minds that you feel society tells you you should be ashamed of. You are showing them you have no shame," she added.

RE: Lady Gaga hits back at weight critics and launches the Body Revolution

These are clearlly old photographs, but what I don't understand is if she is "Proud of her Size" then why bother posting them at all?
