‘I’m struggling to cut out booze’

She’s admitted to struggling with diets in the past but, last week, Lauren Goodger pledged to hit her dream goal of dropping to a slinky size 8 after embarking on a new weight-loss plan.
The TOWIE star, who’s gone from a size 8 to a 12-14 over the past year, started the strict Cambridge diet, which involves eating specially prepared meals, shakes, soups and bars and banning coffee, tea and alcohol.
Last week, Lauren, 25 – who looked happy and healthy while out in Essex – Tweeted: “Day6 of @CambsWeightPlan and I feel great can feel it already. Can’t wait hav body where all the mags use nice pictures of me! I want my goal x.”
But sources say while she’s been sticking to her food schedule, she’s struggling to cut out booze. A pal says: “Two days into the diet, she told friends she was drinking low-calorie cocktails. Another night, she had vodka and said: ‘At least there’s no carbs in vodka!’ She said she was hoping to stick to the diet – but admitted she was struggling to cut out booze completely.”
Lauren recently said: “If I know I’m going out, I won’t eat so I can drink in the evening. I’d rather drink than eat, but when I drink my face bloats.”
But sources say the star, who was left devastated after cruel jibes about her weight when she was pictured in Miami last month, is determined to slim for an upcoming break in Marbella.
She recently said of the Miami photos: “I look overweight. And I look miserable... I just look dumpy.” A pal adds:
“She’s joked she’s going to stick photos from Miami on her fridge as a reminder.”
Pals say Lauren – who’s still in touch with her ex-fiancé Mark Wright, 25 – is also considering quitting TOWIE after being approached about launching her own reality show. A pal says: “She feels her fame is now bigger than TOWIE and she’s aware fans are dying to know what’s going on with her and Mark and are interested in her weight battle.”
