Loved-up celebs' ill-fated tattoos

It's the same old story for the celebrities below - they become smitten with their significant other, get a tattoo of 'The One's' name, and finally, a removal procedure is in order when love's young dream falls apart.

Cheryl Cole
Just days after announcing her divorce from Ashley Cole, Cheryl’s planning on getting her ‘Mrs C’ tattoo removed from the back of her neck. She got inked a few months before Ashley’s first infidelities were revealed – horrible timing! Cheryl’s reportedly having it removed very soon at a special clinic in Los Angeles.
Kerry Katona
Last month, Kerry was seen at a skin and body clinic in Cheshire with a huge plaster on the back of her neck, in place of a huge ‘Mark’ tattoo. The former Iceland ad star is a girl who apparently doesn’t learn from her mistakes – in the early 2000s, she had ex-husband Brian McFadden’s first name inked onto her bum (back when he was still ‘Bryan’) only to have it lasered off after their divorce.
Peter Andre/Katie Price
Peter Andre got his then-wife Katie’s first name tattooed onto his ring finger as a more permanent wedding ring. Quite sweet really. As we all know though, that didn’t quite work out for him. Despite splitting from Kate in 2009, he only got around to removing it in 2010, as he reportedly didn’t want to upset his children. He certainly kept it longer than his ex-wife had his name on her wrist: Katie got ‘Pete’ tattooed only a few months before they split. She then had a huge ‘X’ etched over it during her notorious Ibiza holiday following her divorce.
Johnny Depp
Back in the early 90s, Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were engaged. The actor declared his ‘eternal’ love for her by getting ‘Winona Forever’ tattooed onto his upper right arm. But the couple broke up the engagement soon after. (What is it with these first-name tatts? They seem to be cursed!). Rather than having the whole thing lasered off, Johnny turned it into ‘Wino Forever’ – we’re not averse to a glass or two of vino ourselves.
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie has numerous tattoos, but one of her most famous was the name ‘Billy Bob’ over a dragon, in honour of her second ex-husband, Billy Bob Thornton. She got it lasered off in 2003, after three years of marriage. We wonder if she’ll ever get one in honour of Brad?
