Mariah Carey's diva demands

Mariah Carey has cemented her reputation as a super diva after demanding to be surrounded by 100 white doves and 20 white kittens as she turned on Christmas lights.

The superstar singer, 40, - who had a string of her extravagant requests denied due to health and safety - reportedly kept thousands waiting for almost an hour at the Westfield shopping centre while she sipped champagne just three miles away with hubby Nick Cannon.

When the star did finally arrive at the venue, which had been lit up by pink lights at her request, she disappeared for a further 15 minutes to rearrange her hair and make-up.

She later emerged to a to an indoor firework display and blast of confetti Mariah said to the crowd that had waited in the ice cold 'Thank you so much for coming. I love you all.'

The star was joined on stage by eight children from the charity Help A London Child, and waved a wand to signal the lights being turned on but soon left for an album signing session with a collection of competition winners.

I'm really excited to be in London. It's one of my favorite cities in the world.' She told the Mail after leaving the hotel.

Ms Carey has already upset TV Presenter Philip Schofield this week after keeping him waiting almost an hour when she made a guest appearance on This Morning.

Her hubby, Nick also admitted last month: ‘We are always late for everything. That is probably the main thing I've gotten used to. It feels pretty weird for me.'

Mariah followed her short appearance at the Westfield centre with a party at the Jalouse nightclub in Mayfair -which she insisted be decorated with white roses, white drapes and vanilla and strawberry scented candles.

Wow seems like someone’s diva alter-ego, is in serious overdrive!
