TOWIE star Mark and Kayla split!

He’s the handsome play boy as one of the central characters in unexpected success show The Only Way Is Essex and she is an ex LA Playboy Bunny so it was a match made in…er...Essex when Mark Wright and Kayla Collins got it together.

The good-looking pair began dating at the end of January after Kayla split from footballer love rat, Ashley Cole and after Mark had split with long term love, Lauren Goodger and got it on with co-star, Sam Faiers (Keeping up?)

Now, less than two months later, the young couple have broken up and there is speculation over who broke up with who.

One report suggests that Mark’s on-off, long term girlfriend and star of TOWIE, Lauren  threatened to pull out of the show if Kayla appeared in it as Mark’s girlfriend.

A source told the Daily Mirror: ‘Lauren put the pressure on and the ITV2 producers didn’t want to lose one of their central characters so Mark and Kayla decided to split.

Another reason for the break up and perhaps the most bizarre is the fact that Kayla returned to LA to look after her pet cat.

Mark told The Sun: ‘She’s gone back to look after her pet. Hopefully she’ll return but it’s difficult, as she’s got commitments. We’re still talking.

‘But since she’s gone back she’s gone off a little bit. I hope we can see each other again.’

With her long blonde hair and curvy physique, it seems Kayla finds herself more at home in the place of endless summers, Los Angeles.

Using her Twitter account as an outlet, she wrote, (rather patriotically) ’I've been to so many cities all over the world, & I still feel like no city compares, this is where my heart resides :) ... I love LA...’

Never mind Mark, being dumped for a pet is better than being dumped for anther man, right?
