Michelle Heaton "I have 80% risk of cancer and may undergo a mastectomy"

It’s been a stressful few days for former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton who was rushed into hospital on Sunday night following a heart scare. But her health problems appear to be far from over, as she has revealed she has an 80 per cent chance of contracting cancer.

The singer, 33, stated that she is having to choose whether to undergo a double mastectomy and have her ovaries removed.
Following Michelle’s discovery that she has the BRCA2 gene, which vastly increases her chances of contracting the deadly disease, the singer told the magazine: 'I have an 80% chance of getting ovarian cancer or breast cancer - and that's on top of everybody else's one-in-three chance.’
'I've got to have an operation and we've got some decisions to make - whether I should have a double mastectomy and if I should have my ovaries removed to reduce the risks.’
‘We're going to have some counselling sessions before we make our minds up. I've got my first mammogram soon.'
'I still feel numb,' she added.
'I'm afraid of leaving my child motherless. That's my biggest fear. I might pass away and I won't see my baby grow up. She might not have a mum around.'
And yesterday Heaton took to her Twitter page to tell fans that she had already started meetings and discussions into how to deal with her health issues.
She wrote: ‘Along with the events of the last...few days it's been a very tough couple of months. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family and amazing friends in this difficult time.’
'They say things come in three's.. Let's hope not. Two potential life altering issues is enough thank u very much...this week I have tests and investigations into the cancer gene so i can make informative decisions on operations & family going forward.’

She added: 'Venturing out now 4my first breast screening appointment .. 2moz are counselling sessions & research meetings .. First a #Starbucks (decaf).'
Michelle’s worrying cancer fears come just two days after she was rushed into a medical facility following ‘a turn for the worst’ regarding her long-term heart condition. Far from feeling relaxed, Michelle had just returned from a sunshine break with best friend Katie Price.
Mother to seven- month-year- old daughter Faith was forced to spend the night in hospital, supported by husband Hugh Hanley.
The singer made the announcement in a series of tweets.
She posted: 'Thank u for all your lovely comments. I am having a small operation to fit a 3 year heart recorder this afternoon It's scary but so grateful to #watfordgeneral #nhs 4looking after me & deciding this is best course of action. I'm sure the operation will b fine.'
Heaton’s updates included pictures of herself from her hospital bed hooked up to medical equipment.
And on Monday morning she revealed she had spent a sleepless night on the ward - partly kept awake by a woman snoring in the bed next to her.
She tweeted: 'As you may or may not know I have suffered from long and scary heart problems over the years. Today it took a turn for the worst.’
'Not exactly how I'd imagined my Sunday ... overnight stay needed.. But baby faith and my @hughhanley keeps a smile on my face.’
'I am ok now, I am being kept in over night just 4 monitoring.. #nhs are amazing and have looked after me so well. Thank u #watfordgeneral.’

The health scare comes as a shock to fans following Michelle’s uploads and tweets from her holiday in the sunshine, showing off an impressive post-pregnancy bikini body.
