Mobo awards: The lowdown
Thursday 21 October 2010
In Liverpool's Echo Arena last night, the prestigious MOBO awards were held, and blimey do they know how to throw a wild party.
There were shouts of 'Liverpoooooooool' down the mics everytime someone graced the stage as well as Everton players presenting an award, much to the dismay of Liverpool's Dwayne Johnson (For those of you without knowledge of football, Liverpool and Everton are enemies of the ball!)
In fact, it had a slight football theme throughout, with football tricksters presenting the names of the winners to the presenters on a golden football.
Anyhoo, back to the acts - it seemed that JLS and Tinie Tempah stole the show, both winning two awards each. JLS took home Best Album and Best UK Act while Tinie walked away with Best Newcomer and Best Video for Frisky.
Both winners performed on the night too, with JLS in an unlikely duet with American artist Travis Mccoy and Tinie singing his first hit Pass Out.
Other performers of the night included Professor Green (who won an award for Best UK Hip Hop/Grime Award) and Mark Ronson, who opened the show with his funky tune Bang Bang Bang.
N-Dubz picked up Best Song for Playing With Fire. They were also the backstage presenters this year and actually managed to stay on their best behaviour for once!

Jay Sean performed, and so did Alesha Dixon who co-hosted the event with Reggie Yates.
Billy Ocean won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
