Peter Andre: 'I'm happy dating'

After a disastrous four-year marriage to Jordan, Peter Andre said it would be “madness” to throw himself into another relationship.

But last week, the Australian singer, 36, told Closer that he is “very much back on the dating scene” and was pictured exclusively cuddling a stunning mystery brunette on a trip to Monaco.

Pete – who split with Jordan in May 2009 and has since enjoyed a three-month fling with former glamour model Maddy Ford – told Closer at the World Music Awards in Monaco: “I’ve been on a few dates with a few different girls and it feels good to be back out there. There’s no one in particular at the moment and I’m not in a relationship.

“I want my kids to get to know a potential girlfriend before it comes out in the papers. It will have to be someone special.

“I’ve been filming my new reality show around Monaco and on a yacht so if I was pictured with a girl, she was most probably a friend making an appearance on the show. I don’t want my next relationship to be in the spotlight.”

But pals say despite claiming that he’s dating several women, Pete has in fact met someone special. However, the singer – who’s dad to Junior, four, and Princess Tiáamii, two, and has acted as a father figure to Jordan’s son Harvey, eight – will keep his new romance quiet as he doesn’t want Jordan to turn on him.

A source tells Closer: “Pete’s been having lots of nights in, cooking his date dinner and having cuddles and kisses. He’s even been telling pals that he wants to remarry and have two more kids.

“But he’s determined to keep his new-found happiness a secret because he’s scared Jordan will hit the roof and won’t let him see Harvey again to spite him.”

And insiders say the singer is desperate to have his children with him on a permanent basis, after becoming increasingly worried about how Jordan, 32, and husband Alex Reid’s lifestyle could affect them.

In January, Pete was appalled when a clip of his children running around at a raucous New Year’s Eve party at Jordan’s house appeared on YouTube. And pals say he was also horrified when he recently discovered that some of Alex’s circle are less than savoury characters – in fact one of them has only recently come out of jail.

A source says: “Pete’s naturally worried about the association that Katie has with them – he doesn’t want people like that round his children.”

The source adds: “Pete has been in a legal battle with Katie for months over agreed contact with his children, now he wants them to live permanently with him.”

After Jordan’s quickie Las Vegas wedding to Alex, 34, in February, Pete spoke out about his concerns over the cross-dressing cage fighter becoming a second father figure to his kids. He said: “Just like any other parent, what I care about is whether they are a good influence on my children. I would fight to the death for my kids.”
