Prince William sets date for Royal wedding

Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced they will marry on Friday April 29 next year.
There’s nothing like a Spring Wedding (provided there’s no April showers) and we at Closer can’t wait to watch the big day – especially as it will be a bank holiday.
The pair also announced they will tie the knot at iconic venue Westminster Abbey because “it's steeped in royal history”. Indeed, Princess Diana's funeral was held there.
According to the prince's private secretary, the couple wanted a spring wedding and felt that the Abbey offered relative intimacy despite its size. Intimacy? Has no one told them the world will be watching?
William proposed to Kate last month while they were on a private holiday in Kenya. The couple have been dating for around eight years and speculation has been rife over when Wills would finally pop the question.
A royal aide also revealed the couple are “on cloud nine” and are taking a “firm role” in the organisation of their big day. The public are expected to be involved on a large scale - which suggests they may be invited in. (Ooh we’ll have to start searching for our best wedding hat.)
The day – which is also the feast of St Catherine – is a rather convenient bank holiday. Not only do we get the Friday off, Easter Monday falls on Monday 25th April – so there’s a three day week for all.
More announcements are set to follow. While William is still undecided on who his best man will be, we at Closer are cheering for Prince Harry.

Kind of weird that its my anniversery on that day and that my dad has set that date for his wedding too.

Great, take 3 day holiday's and get 11 days off work! (if you work in an office) seriously though, I think it's brilliant, a chance for the country to be united and proud to be British for the day. Anyone who isn't happy about it or proud of their heritage haven't got to watch.
