Robert Pattinson has ‘dumped Kristen Stewart over pressure from friends’

They may have rekindled their romance after it was rocked by a cheating scandal in July, but it seems that Robert Pattinson hasn’t quite forgiven his girlfriend of four years Kristen Stewart, and has called time on their relationship.
Despite his attempts to move on, the Twilight hunk, 26, clearly hasn’t been able to get over Kristen’s affair with director Rupert Sanders. He is believed to have broken the news to her this weekend, confessing that he thought they would be better off as friends.
‘She flew to LA and was supposed to be Rob’s date for the Golden Globes, but he told her he wants to cool it off’ said an insider close to the couple.
‘He loves her but would rather go back to being good friends so they can rebuild their trust and focus on work after Twilight.'
Rob attended the Golden Globes on his own, where he presented an award with Amanda Seyfried, while Kristen only attended the after-party.
Apparently, Kristen turned up at the Soho House party at 1am before leaving with Rob and a group of friends about an hour later.
The pair are believed to have spent Christmas apart too. Rob spent the holiday period in London where it is believed that his friends and family were giving him a hard time about taking back the actress.
‘He was getting so much pressure to ditch her. His friends told him to focus on his career and said she was wrecking his chances’ said a pal.
Candid photos of Kristen, 22, and her Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert, 42, were published in July 2012, leading to Rob ending their four-year relationship.
The pair got back together in October following Kristen’s public apology, in which she described the incident as a ‘momentary indiscretion.’
‘Kristen’s upset but understands. She shouldn’t have pushed him to reconcile after her infidelity. She’s hoping he’ll come round and time will be a great healer’ added the pal.
The couple haven’t been spotted in public together since November 27, when they were seen catching a flight out of New York’s JFK airport together.
